It is the direct realization of the truth of knowledge, and the ultimate direct realization. From the perspective of the Yogachara ground, there is the ground with both examination and investigation, the ground with only examination and no investigation, and the ground with neither examination nor investigation, this fifth ground is complete. What is the ground of meditative stabilization? In summary: the teachings and their classifications, attention and characteristics, various contents of the sutras, are the final collection. The ground of meditative stabilization, in brief, should be known as the teachings, their classifications, the various distinctions of attention, the various distinctions of characteristics, and the collection of the sutras. What are the teachings? In brief, the ground of meditative stabilization has four aspects: namely, meditative concentration, liberation, meditative stabilization, and attainment. What is meditative concentration? There are four meditative concentrations: born of detachment, with both investigation and examination; born of meditative stabilization, without investigation and without examination; without joy; and with equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness. What is liberation? There are eight liberations: one who has form contemplates forms, this is the first liberation. Internally without the perception of form, one contemplates external forms, this is the second liberation. Having realized the beautiful liberation with the body, one dwells having cultivated it, this is the third liberation. The sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, and having realized the cessation of perception and feeling with the body, one dwells having cultivated it, this is the eighth liberation. What is meditative stabilization? Emptiness, absence of aspiration, absence of characteristics. Again, there are three meditative stabilizations: with investigation and examination, without investigation but only examination, without investigation and without examination. Again, there are three: small, great, immeasurable. Again, there are three: possessing joy, possessing bliss, possessing equanimity. Again, there is a meditative stabilization cultivated in one aspect, and a meditative stabilization cultivated in both aspects. Again, there are four meditative stabilizations cultivated and

Having samadhi, and also having the samadhi with five noble knowledges, and also having the samadhi with five limbs, and also the noble one's own samadhi with cause and equipment, and also vajra-like samadhi, and also the learner's samadhi, the non-learner's samadhi, and the samadhi that is neither learner nor non-learner. What is absorption? The five absorptions of seeing, the absorptions of the eight spheres of mastery, the absorptions of the ten kasina spheres, the four formless absorptions, the absorption without perception, and the absorption of cessation. What is its classification? Why is it called the place of equipoise only? Is not the one-pointedness of mind in the desire realm not considered? Because this samadhi is accomplished by non-regret, supreme joy, joy, extreme pliancy, and bliss. But behavior in the desire realm is not like that, it is not that there is no close attention to the true Dharma in the desire realm. Among them, the first dhyana is called joy born from remoteness, when it manifests and abides, it will abandon five dharmas, namely, pleasure associated with desire, displeasure associated with desire, pleasure associated with non-virtue, displeasure associated with non-virtue, and equanimity associated with non-virtue. The practice of five dharmas will also be perfected, namely, supreme joy, joy, extreme pliancy, bliss, and samadhi. What is pleasure associated with desire? When the qualities of the five desires are obtained, or have been obtained, or are being enjoyed, or relying on seeing, hearing, tasting, what is the pleasure of mind that arises from remembering these? What is displeasure associated with desire? When the qualities of those five desires cannot be obtained, or one cannot enjoy them, or those that have been obtained decay, separate, or are exhausted, what is the displeasure that arises? Non-virtuous
