It is said: "With a fearless mind, Receiving all feelings, Like a lamp extinguished, His mind is liberated." As it is said, this is called the Nirvana of near peace. What is harmless Nirvana? That is, not possessing all aggregates, not in accordance with all afflictions and the arising of suffering, separated by the complete transformation of the place, and the uncontaminated realm. As it is said: "A monk abiding in happiness is called Nirvana." Also, as it is said: The unborn, the unbecome, the unmade, the uncompounded, and the not truly arisen are existent. The born, the become, the made, the compounded, and the truly arisen are existent. If the unborn, the unbecome, the unmade, the uncompounded, and the not truly arisen were to be non-existent, then the born, the become, the made, the compounded, and the truly arisen would necessarily arise from it, I would not say so. Because the unborn, the unbecome, the unmade, the uncompounded, and the not truly arisen, that is existent, therefore the born, the become, the made, the compounded, and the truly arisen necessarily arise from it, I say so. As it is said, the deep and vast, immeasurable Nirvana is uncountable, such words are spoken by the Blessed One with intention. Among them, it is profound because it is difficult to realize. It is vast because it possesses qualities and has been abandoned. It is immeasurable because it is inexhaustible. Uncountable means that it is uncountable because there is no duality to be shown. How is it uncountable? Because it is impossible to show existence or non-existence, and form, or different from form, feeling, or different from feeling, perception, or different from perception, formations, or different from formations, consciousness, or different from consciousness. Why is this? Thus, it is distinguished by the completely pure Suchness and is uniquely determined to be without defilement, that is harmless Nirvana. These two are combined into one.

This section is called the establishment of designations for Nirvana. What is the establishment of designations as synonyms for Nirvana? Regarding this, it should be understood that these are the synonyms for Nirvana, namely: permanence, stability, constancy, unchanging nature, place, island, protector, refuge, kinsman, happiness, peace, basis of goodness, transformation into happiness, immovability, non-inclination, difficult to see, deathlessness, sorrowlessness, death-transference-lessness, plague-lessness, complete affliction-lessness, disease-lessness, agitation-lessness, Nirvana, non-elaboration.
