It is. What is ignorance? Relying on non-noble individuals, hearing non-noble teachings, not applying proper attention, and relying on the expression of naturally occurring memories, whether or not examining knowable objects, whatever is the afflicted non-knowing is it. What is doubt? Relying on non-noble individuals, hearing non-noble teachings, and relying on not applying proper attention, when examining knowable objects, whatever is the mere wavering of the mind is it. Among these, the basis is whatever arises from dormancy. Among these, the object is whatever appears as an object like a place of affliction. Among these, association is whatever is learning from non-noble individuals. Among these, speech is whatever is hearing non-noble teachings. Among these, habituation is whatever is increasing the power of prior familiarity. Among these, attention is whatever arises from not applying proper attention. In what states do afflictions exist? In brief, there are seven states: the state of dormancy, the state of being completely entangled, the state of being completely conceptualized, the state of being co-emergent, the small state, the intermediate state, and the great state. Among these, two causes make the dormancy of afflictions increase: being connected to the seed, and by the entity of its master. At what time does the door become completely defiled by afflictions? In brief, there are two doors: the door of complete entanglement and the door of dormancy. How does the door of complete entanglement completely defile?
