Is it called "I"? Or is it something different from those? If it is posited on views, etc., then the views, etc., themselves become the seer, and I am not different from the views, etc., so it cannot be the seer. If it is different from those, then do those views, etc., become my action or agent? If it is an action, then it is also like a seed, so it will become impermanent, so it is not possible. If it is like a person who is nominally designated as a potter, etc., then it will become impermanent and conventional, so it is not possible. If it is like a person who is nominally designated as having miraculous powers, then it will become impermanent and conventional, and it will be able to do whatever it wants to all things, so it is not possible. If it is like earth, then it will also become impermanent, and it is not as clear in its function as earth, so it is not possible. In this way, the function of earth is clearly visible, and that is why it does not fall downwards. If it is like space, then it is merely formless, and it ends with being designated as space, so it is not possible. Even if it exists in the way of being posited, its function is clearly visible, but I am not like that, so it is not possible. In this way, the function of space is clearly visible, and that is why there are actions such as coming and going, contracting, and stretching, so it cannot be said to be an action. If it is an agent, then if it is like an axe, etc., just as an axe, etc., performs the action of cutting other things, from views, etc., it is not possible to see anything else that is different from views, etc., so it is not possible. If it is like fire, then clinging to self will become meaningless, so it is not possible. In this way, fire can burn itself even without a burner. If it is different from the nature of the seer, etc., then it is not possible to call self the nature that does not exist for all valid cognitions. It can also be said in this way: what has the nature of all defilements and purifications, will it become all defilements or purifications? Or its nature

It is desired that it becomes so without possessing such a nature. If anything possesses the nature of being completely defiled and completely purified, then it will become completely defiled or completely purified. Therefore, for all phenomena, epidemics, harms, contagious diseases, and their pacification and benefits should be clearly recognized, and these phenomena possess the nature of being completely defiled and completely purified. Therefore, in the absence of self, external objects and internal bodies will become completely defiled and completely purified, so it is not permissible. If it does not possess such a nature, then the self, which lacks the nature of being completely defiled and completely purified, becoming completely defiled and completely purified is not permissible. To this, it can also be said: Does anything that possesses the nature of change change, or does it both change and cease? Or is it desired that something that does not possess such a nature becomes so? If anything that possesses a nature becomes so, then, for phenomena, five aspects of the nature of change should be clearly recognized, namely, possessing a cause, having the nature of arising, having the nature of ceasing, and any change and transformation from one to another, which is the nature of change. This is also the case, for aggregates, sprouts, rivers, lamps, actions, and the continuation of vehicles, etc., should be clearly recognized. Therefore, in the absence of self, phenomena themselves are changing and ceasing, so it is not permissible. If it is something that does not possess such a nature, then the self, which does not possess the nature of change, itself becoming changing and ceasing is not permissible. To this, it can also be said: Are the transformations of pleasure and pain generated by objects, and the transformations generated by the mind, and the transformations generated by afflictions and near afflictions, the enjoyer, the doer, or the liberator? Or is it that which does not transform that is considered so? If it is considered that which transforms is so, then phenomena themselves are the enjoyer, the doer, and the

Because the body will decay and change, the "I" will become impermanent, therefore it is not acceptable. If it is an unchanging thing, then the "I" will become the profound one, the author, and the liberator, and it is not acceptable to be unchanging. In this regard, it can also be said: Is the identity of the author established on oneself? Or do you want to establish it on something other than "I"? If it is established on oneself, then it cannot be said that the fire is burning and the light is shining. If it is established on other things, then even if the senses such as the eyes are established as authors, clinging to "I" is meaningless, therefore it is not acceptable. In this regard, it can also be said: Is the identity of "I" established on oneself? Or do you want to establish it on other things? If it is established on oneself, then one cannot establish merits, spiritual friends, blessings of the Buddha, etc., on the person who is established in the mundane world. If it is established on other things, then it is only establishing the aggregate of formations as "I", and clinging to "I" is meaningless, therefore it is not acceptable. Just like this, this person who is established in the mundane world, himself also thinks that he is a sentient being, and also declares to others. In this regard, it can also be said: Do you think that clinging to "I" is good or bad? If it is good, then for the ignorant, it will arise more strongly, it will arise even without practice, it will be afraid of liberation, and it will promote evil, therefore it is not acceptable. If it is bad, then it cannot be said to be correct, and if there is reversal, it cannot be said that there is "I". Do you think that clinging to the view of no-self is good or bad? If it is good, then if there is "I" existing in happiness, then clinging to the view of no-self is good, and it cannot be said to be correct. If it is bad, then it cannot be said to be spoken by all the Buddhas, arising from practice, not afraid of liberation, able to immediately obtain the white and pure fruit, and become the antidote to evils. Do you think you have an "I"? Or
