Regarding the Dharma that possesses characteristics, it should be understood as existing. In that aspect, the object is as follows: like water being inside a vase. Regarding its support, the object is as follows: like the eye's cognition of the form of the eye. Similarly, regarding its own characteristic, the object is as follows: the cause is not something to be inferred, but like its own function. The cause changes, or it is changed by the factors of change. Therefore, in constant time and eternal time, it is not permissible for the effect to exist in the cause. Because from that perspective, it is not reasonable to say this, so it is only produced. In this way, neither the undifferentiated characteristic, nor the differentiated characteristic, neither the unborn characteristic, nor the born characteristic is permissible. What is manifest declaration? For example, here are some ascetics or Brahmins who merely make manifest what exists, but not what is produced, they view it this way, and they speak this way. For example, those who declare that the effect exists in the cause, and those who declare the characteristic of sound. Those who declare that the effect exists in the cause, why do they consider it manifest that the effect exists in the cause? It is done through scripture and reasoning. The scripture should be viewed as before. What is the reasoning? For example, here are some who call themselves logicians, thinkers, and it should be elaborated as before. They think this way: if the effect does not exist in the cause, it will not be produced, and it is also not the case that one does not strive to achieve the effect. Then, why do they do it? They think it is to make it manifest. After thoroughly examining it in this way, they become manifest declarers. To those who declare that the effect exists manifestly in the cause, one should say this: do you consider the cause to be without obscuration or with obscuration? If it is assumed to be without, then it is not permissible to say that something without obscuration obscures something. If it is assumed to be with, then what is the difference from being with? Why does it not obscure the cause related to the effect? This is not permissible. For example, when darkness obscures the water inside a clay pot, then the clay pot also

It is like obscuration. If the cause is also obscured by the obscuring cause, then the fruit that exists in the cause will appear, but it cannot be said that the cause will not appear. In this regard, it can also be said: Is existence itself the cause of obscuration, or is the fruit itself the cause of obscuration? If existence itself is the cause of obscuration, then the cause also exists, but existence will not appear at all times, which is not possible. If the fruit itself is the cause of obscuration, then some causes are also it, and the fruit is also it, for example, the sprout is the fruit of the seed, and the tree and so on are the cause, therefore, it cannot be said that appearance is also it, and non-appearance is also it. In this regard, it can also be said: Is the appearance from that dharma not different, or is it considered different? If it is not different, because it is a constantly appearing dharma, it cannot be said that appearance makes appearance appear. If it is different, then is it without cause, or with cause? If it is without cause, then, the causeless cannot appear. If it is with cause, then because it has not appeared, the appearance that has become the fruit cannot make appearance appear either. Therefore, there is no obscuring cause, there is an obscuring cause, the nature of existence, the nature of the fruit, the appearance is not different, and the appearance is different, which is also not possible. Therefore, whatever is non-existent, its nature is non-existence. Whatever is existent, its nature is existence. The non-existence of non-existence is non-appearance. The existence of existence is appearance itself. The nature of how not to be attached to existence will be explained, and existence cannot be attached to because it is far away, and the four kinds of obscuring causes: covering, making invisible, overwhelming, and being obscured by deceiving the eyes.
