Again, they go to boil and burn. Again, they go below to boil and burn, like filling a copper pot with water and kindling a very large fire inside, and putting in Monas bean pods, Monas bean grains, juniper fruits, and Chinese soybeans. On both sides of that river, there dwell beings holding sticks in their hands, beings holding slings in their hands, and beings holding nets in their hands. Those beings do not allow those beings to come out, and with slings or nets, they pull them out and lay them face up on the ground where a great fire is blazing everywhere, and ask, 'Hey, beings, what do you want?' They say, 'We don't know, we don't see, but we are hungry.' Then those beings open the mouths of those beings with iron splitting tools, and insert iron balls burning with a great fire into their mouths, just like before. If they say, 'We are thirsty,' then they pour boiling copper into their mouths in the same way. From then on, they will experience suffering for a long time, until all the sinful and unwholesome deeds of the beings in hell are completely exhausted and purified. Among them, the path filled with hairy razor blades, and the forest with sword-leaf trees, and the iron Shalmali tree forest, if these are added together, they become four times as much. For the beings born in the cold hells, they will experience such cold suffering. The beings born in the Blister Hell are struck by the great wind there, and their whole bodies shrink as if covered with blisters. Therefore, that hell of beings is called the Blister Hell. The distinction of the Bursting Blister Hell is this: they shrink like bursting blisters. Therefore, that hell of beings is called the Bursting Blister Hell. Sota Tama, Kyi Hud Zer, and Achu Zer are named as the names of those beings from the expression of words. In the cold hell of beings, in the places that crack like lotuses, there is

Being struck by a great wind, the skin turns completely blue and cracks in five or six places. Therefore, this hell of sentient beings is called cracking like an উৎপল (Sanskrit: utpala, blue lotus). The distinction of cracking like a lotus is this: after the skin turns blue, it turns completely red and cracks in ten or more places. Therefore, this hell of sentient beings is called cracking like a lotus. The distinction of cracking like a great lotus is this: the skin turns completely and utterly red and cracks in a hundred or more places. Therefore, this hell of sentient beings is called cracking like a great lotus. Those sentient beings born in the ephemeral hells of sentient beings will experience such suffering arising from their own bodies and their own karma. For example, as asked by the Blessed One in the sutra, as extensively spoken by Maudgalyayana's son. Therefore, that hell of sentient beings is called the ephemeral hell of sentient beings. Among them, animals kill each other, the weak are killed by the strong, and thus they experience suffering. They are also involuntarily killed, beaten, and harmed, becoming tools for gods and humans, and thus they experience various kinds of suffering. Ghosts are generally of three types: those who have external obstructions to food and drink, those who have internal obstructions to food and drink, and those who have obstructions to food and drink. What are those who have external obstructions to food and drink? Some sentient beings, because of excessive stinginess, are born in the realm of ghosts. They are hungry and thirsty, their skin, flesh, and blood are all dried up, they are like burnt tree stumps, their faces are covered with hair, their faces are hungry and thirsty, their mouths are very dry, they lick with their tongues, and their faces are haggard. Therefore, they wander everywhere in springs, lakes, and ponds. However, in those places, there are also other sentient beings holding swords, spears, and short spears who prevent them from approaching the springs, lakes, and ponds, and that water also turns into pus and blood.

I, therefore those themselves also do not want to drink. Therefore, those like that are the hungry ghosts who have external obstacles to food and drink. What are the internal obstacles to food and drink? For example, a mouth like a needle hole, a mouth with flames, with tumors, a large belly, like this, without being hindered by those and others, even though one has obtained food and drink, one cannot eat and drink, those like that are the hungry ghosts who have internal obstacles to food and drink. What are those who have obstacles to food and drink? There are those called hungry ghosts with strings of fire tongues, everything they eat and drink will burn, therefore their suffering of hunger and thirst will not disappear. There are also those called hungry ghosts who eat filth, some of them eat feces and drink urine, whatever is unclean and smells bad, harmful, and should be condemned, they can eat or drink. Also, some even cut their own flesh to eat, whatever is clean or virtuous, they cannot eat and drink, those like that are the hungry ghosts who have obstacles to food and drink. For sentient beings born in humans, they will experience such suffering of poverty, the suffering of being afflicted by innate hunger and thirst, afflicted by desire, the suffering of being afflicted by bad food, born from walking, searching and quarreling, the suffering of being afflicted by fatigue and so on, the cold of seasonal changes, the suffering of being harmed by heat, born from dripping damage, the suffering of damage caused by not being protected by houses and so on, the suffering of damage caused by being obscured by darkness and so on and losing one's name, similarly completely changing, the suffering of aging, the suffering of sickness, the suffering of death. Like this, the sentient beings in hells, consider death itself to be happiness, therefore for them, it is not considered suffering. The gods do not have vital points to be severed, but there is the suffering of death and falling, just as when a son of the gods dies, omens appear.
