Depending on the desire to listen, one will ask questions. Depending on asking questions, one will hear the meaning that one has not heard before. By repeatedly and constantly listening, one can purify it completely and be freed from doubts. In this way, because wisdom is completely purified, one can see the faults of all the perfections of the world, and thus the mind feels weary. In this way, when the mind feels weary and remembers virtue, one will not crave those perfections. In this way, because the mind does not crave all the paths that can be seen in the world, one will also aspire to abandon all the laws of evil destinies, and in order to truly accept its antidote—virtuous Dharma, and in order to truly accept the antidote to all afflictions—virtuous Dharma, and in order to obtain the fruit of its antidote, thereby completely purifying one's own mind, one will also aspire. Through these ten ways, from the complete maturation of the wisdom that makes liberation completely mature, one will completely attain liberation in accordance with the order as it is taught. Which three branches are taught in order? Just like this: listening to the perfect Dharma, taking Nirvana as the main thing, and the three branches of the wisdom that makes liberation completely mature, in order to explain the meaning contained in these branches, and to elaborate on them, just like these ten ways, it should be known that there is nothing higher than this, and there is nothing more excellent than this. These three branches themselves are called the cause of cultivation. Why? Because in this way, relying on the order, through that cause and that condition, yoga can be accomplished by cultivation, just like this: listening to the perfect Dharma, taking Nirvana as the main thing, and the wisdom that makes liberation completely mature completely matures. Twenty-fifth fascicle. What is the cultivation of the antidote? In short, it should be known that these ten aspects that are not conducive to the cultivation of yoga exist in three states. What are the three states? The state of being a householder.

These are the state of being a householder, the state of being ordained, and the state of meditating on yoga by truly abiding inwardly in extreme solitude. What are the ten opposing factors to meditating on yoga? In the state of being a householder, the desire with the thought of intercourse with one's own wife, and the attachment with the enjoyment of servants who are not one's wife, this is an opposing factor belonging to the state of being a householder, which is an obstacle to all of all attainments. Furthermore, renouncing from the state of being a householder is also an obstacle to the delight of pervasive confusion of thoughts. Thus, the antidotes to these two opposing factors should be understood as meditating on the perception of unattractiveness and meditating on the perception of impermanence, respectively. When an ordained person abides in the state of being ordained, in short, there are four things to do at all times. What are the four things? Firstly, how can I, by relying on constantly striving to meditate on virtuous Dharma, reverse the karma of consciousness following the taste of happiness, and realize suffering as it truly is? One should constantly strive to meditate on virtuous Dharma. Secondly, how can my mind not turn back from the unelaborated Nirvana because of my complete renunciation, and I have nothing of my own? One should have faith and delight in the unelaborated Nirvana. Thirdly, how can I, by relying on fully enjoying alms, maintain my body, generate strength, and make it easy to constantly strive to meditate on virtuous Dharma? One should wander for alms in towns and villages from time to time. Fourthly, how can I not be delighted in the various noises of householders and ordained people, and not let the various worldly listenings, viewings, and acts of reverence hinder the state of single-pointedness of mind that truly discerns? Abiding in an extremely solitary place is the fourth thing to do. The opposing factors to these four things to do are also only four.
