If it is said to possess what? When the Blessed One became a Bodhisattva, he abandoned the most excellent and supremely excellent desires, completely renounced his household, and perfectly took the vows of body and speech. How is it said to possess wisdom? When he abides in those perfectly taken vows of body and speech, such a thought arises in him in accordance with the Dharma: 'Alas, these beings in the world are engaged in hardship, such as being subject to birth and aging.' It should be connected as it appears in the Sutra. How is it said that he has cultivated himself? In other past lives, in those three countless eons, he cultivated and greatly cultivated the six perfections. Due to that cause and that condition, now, without a teacher, the mind of manifest realization arises, and he also enters into the dependent origination of all phenomena with wisdom. How is it said to be in equipoise? Having become free from attachment to the sphere of nothingness, he has attained the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. How is it said to possess mindfulness? Having thus entered into equipoise, he cultivates the four mindfulnesses in order to abandon the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing. Having made those mindfulnesses the first, he cultivates up to the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. How is it said to have gone straight? The eightfold noble path that goes against the mundane arises, and he also abandons the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing. He also enters and goes on that path that goes against the mundane. How is it said that he has abandoned all his sorrow and disease? As soon as he realizes the truth, he also abandons the five bonds corresponding to the lower part, such as harmful thoughts like sorrow, and desires like disease. How is it said to possess right mindfulness? In order to abandon the bonds corresponding to the higher part, he again cultivates the four mindfulnesses, up to the cultivation of the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment.

If so, is his mind liberated? Because of abandoning those connections that are in accordance with the higher divisions, the mind is liberated from the obscurations of affliction and the obscurations of knowledge, that is, the two kinds of obscurations. Since the mind is so completely liberated in that way, he becomes a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly complete Buddha. As it is extensively stated in the sutras, combine it like this: He has shown the lineage of beings, and has also entered the path and definite emergence. Whichever of the four lineages, some are delighted with his teachings. In order to realize the Noble Eightfold Path, they practice diligently, and if they learn the three trainings well, they will also attain the Noble Eightfold Path and its fruit, Nirvana. Having attained that, they will not fear disease, old age, and death in the future. As for the brief answer to this teaching: Briefly stated, the Blessed One has shown the purity of the four lineages, and there is no deception for those who enter into it, because he has well proclaimed his teachings as the Dharma and Vinaya, and has shown that the teacher is unsurpassed. Know that this is the brief answer given here. How does one become famous? How does one become wealthy? How does one gain a good reputation? How does one find friends? Through morality one becomes famous, through generosity one becomes wealthy, through truth one gains a good reputation, and giving finds friends. This is a verse. If asked, how does one become famous through morality? Like this, here a man or woman is endowed with morality and is a virtuous follower of the Dharma. Until the end of their life, they abstain from killing, turning away from killing. As it is said in the sutras, in all directions and corners, ascetics and Brahmins dwell, and it is extensively combined until they praise him. From that basis, kings, ministers, townspeople, and villagers will show him reverence. If asked, how does one become wealthy through generosity? Like this, here is
