With the two verses, "One should not despise gains obtained according to the Dharma; one should not despise these gains," it shows the distinction of pure discipline by completely abandoning accumulation, persuasion, measuring by gain, and the desire to obtain gain through gain. With "One should not be attached to gain and respect in any way; one should not be attached to views of exaggeration and slander," it shows the distinction of purity by not being attached to gain and respect, and by not being attached to the five kinds of evil views. With "The secret words of worldly heretics, meaningless ones, should not be regarded as supreme; the begging bowl and Dharma robes, too, should not be carried excessively without need," it explains that in order to be liberated from the five aggregates of appropriation, one should not regard the source of evil views in external scriptures, those made by worldly heretics, as supreme, and by completely abandoning the begging bowl and Dharma robes, which are the cause of attachment to gain and respect, one shows pure discipline through pure cause. With "One should not associate with householders who increase afflictions; one should associate with noble ones who purify wisdom," it shows purity by abandoning the cause of unfavorable factors and by associating with the cause of antidotal factors. With "One should not have friends and companions who cause sorrow and distraction; one should not accept the arising of afflictions that cause suffering," it explains that just as associating with householders causes sorrow and distraction, thereby increasing afflictions and being the cause of suffering; just as associating with noble ones does not accept the arising of afflictions that cause suffering, thereby becoming the cause of antidotal factors, this shows that. With "One should not enjoy offerings given in faith in any way due to impaired conduct; one should not abandon the excellent Dharma in any way," it explains that not being attached to gain and respect, and not being attached to evil views, is not wasting offerings given in faith, and not abandoning the excellent Dharma, therefore, in the future, one will be even more attached to desire, and to evil views.

The complete abandonment of the cause of arising demonstrates the distinction of purity. Do not think about the faults of others, strive to become happy. One's own faults and transgressions, having known them, should be declared. By saying this, abandoning thoughts upon seeing the faults of others, and not abandoning one's own virtuous aspects, because of the arising of happiness in the mind, completely knowing and declaring one's own transgressions, because of the absence of pride, it demonstrates the complete purity of discipline. Similarly, for transgressions that have occurred, one should diligently act according to the Dharma. Similarly, for things to be done, one should do them oneself and be meticulous. By saying this, removing transgressions, and also completely abandoning the desire to do services for others, and the desire to personally perform acts of service and offerings, it also demonstrates purity. Towards the Buddhas and the Hearers, their power, strength, and teachings, having faith and being without fault, even upon seeing, one does not slander. By saying this, because of having faith, and viewing slander as a fault, it demonstrates purity. That which is not the object of conceptual thought, for the very profound Dharmas, completely abandoning the old lineages of the past, one should not hold one's own view as supreme. By saying this, also because of completely abandoning dwelling in holding one's own view as supreme, it demonstrates the distinction of purity. On a bed in a remote place, one should dwell in complete solitude, one should meditate on virtuous Dharmas, one should rely on steadfast diligence. By saying this, body and mind being completely solitary, and relying on a bed that is conducive to Samadhi, and abandoning thoughts about the non-virtuous, and solely focusing on meditating on white Dharmas, and not being overcome by sinking and excitement and other near afflictions, because of the completion of the application, it demonstrates the distinction of the means of training in higher mind. Without desire and generating aspiration, without hatred and not blaming, not sleeping and sleeping on time, and also not dwelling in peace, without regret and with regret, without doubt and generating desire, in all aspects and at all times, one is endowed with correct application. These two verses that say, generating aspiration for desire, and harmful thoughts, and
