Besides the initial one, the remaining higher trainings in discipline are close to the reality of the cause; the uniquely supreme Nirvana is close to the reality of the cause; individually and with guides, practicing together, this is to be explained. Whoever initially has no regrets, and later becomes happy, the wise person who learns from whom, that is the beginning of all trainings. This verse explains how the training of higher discipline, according to the sequence of having no regrets, etc., is close to the reality of the cause of the latter. Whoever has virtue and is endowed, and purifies wisdom, the wise person who learns from whom, that is the middle of all trainings. This means that the training of higher mind, the root of virtue arising from meditation, especially the sequence of the arising of excellence, etc., is the cause of the supreme training. Whose mind is liberation, and whose proliferation will also cease, the wise person who learns from whom, that is the chief of all trainings. This means that the training of higher wisdom is the chief because it is the cause of Nirvana. The teaching of the beginning of the path is the path of becoming impure, similarly, it is going to the happy realms, that is to go alone. What is meant is that if the training of higher discipline declines, it will become the cause of bad destinies, and if it is practiced correctly, it will become the cause of happy destinies, and without the latter two trainings, one can accomplish it alone. The teaching of the middle of the path is the path of going purely, not all go forever, that is not what one wants alone. What is meant is how the middle path, because it is separated from the desire of the desire realm, is pure, so it is going purely, not separated from the desire of the upper realms, and the latent tendencies of the desire of the desire realm are not forever absent, so not all go purely forever, and how without the supreme and without the first, it cannot be accomplished alone. The teaching of the chief of the path is the path of going purely, all go forever, that is also not what one wants alone. This means that the three realms of

Free from attachment and aversion, and habitual tendencies are also completely eliminated. How the supreme ones can all be completely attained, and without the former two, it cannot be accomplished by one alone, this is what it shows. Whether one is learning or not learning, both are considered wise. This half-verse shows that for these three trainings, the learners should learn correctly and not learn perversely, which is the characteristic of the wise. Whether one is learning or not learning, it is considered that both are possessed. The latter half-verse shows that perverse learning and not learning are the characteristics of the foolish. Abandoning all clinging, being free from evil destinies, and likewise, for the sake of directly realizing what is to be known, the three trainings arise accordingly. This verse shows that abandoning all clinging to family, wife, etc., and abandoning the evil destinies that are contrary to samadhi, through directly realizing the nature of the four truths, the three trainings will be accomplished in order. Having an object of focus and having no object of focus, possessing subtle and coarse. This half-verse shows that the two supreme ones, the first in order, are having an object of focus and having no object of focus, and distinguishing through subtle and coarse. With correct upholding and extreme solitude, and with sound and praise, one correctly accomplishes. The latter half-verse shows that the first, the middle, and the supreme ones, in order, are manifested by making vows, manifested by the solitude of body and mind, and manifested by the sound of others and the inner proper attention. One training arises from one alone, the latter is accompanied by a partner, one is accompanied by a partner and three, the wise can transcend these. This verse shows that the first one arises from one alone. For the middle one, it is indispensable. For the supreme one, both are indispensable. From these, the one who correctly transcends should be known as the Arhat who no longer learns. From the training, the precepts do not degenerate, and one is also endowed with vows, the rituals are good and not despised, and the five places are also completely abandoned.
