If something unlawful occurs, it should be thoroughly corrected according to the Dharma. Actions that should be done in this way, one should do oneself and strive diligently. Towards the power, strength, and teachings of the Buddhas and Shravakas, those who are faithful and without fault should not slander what they see. Regarding the extremely profound Dharmas that are not within the realm of speculation, completely abandon old traditions and do not hold one's own view as supreme. On a secluded mattress at the edge, one should dwell in solitude. One should meditate on virtuous Dharmas, and make diligent effort steadfastly. Without desire, generate desire; without hatred, rebuke. Do not oversleep, but sleep at the proper time, and do not dwell in stillness either. Without regret and with regret, being doubtful and wanting, in all ways and at all times, one should possess correct practice. Cause entry and awakening, and likewise, universally combine. Grasping at signs and attachment, and likewise, elevating in that way. Despondency and extreme attachment, conceptualization is such an action. That which generates desire and attachment, the wise should completely abandon. Desires are never satisfied, and likewise, they are commonly shared by many, becoming the cause of what is not Dharma, and likewise, they increase craving, which the noble ones should abandon. They quickly perish, desires depend on conditions, and are also the ground of carelessness. Desires are like skeletons, like chunks of meat, like grass lamps, like pits of fire, like venomous snakes, like dreams, like ornamental decorations, like fruits. Having understood desires in this way, do not be attached in any way. Always listen to the sacred Dharma, contemplate and meditate. Initially, it is peaceful and vast; having seen it, meditate with single-pointed concentration. Abandon afflictions and negative karma, and also rejoice in abandoning. Also examine the signs, and practice the application. Separate from desire for desire, separate from desire for form. Manifestly realize the truth, and completely separate from desire. In this life, attain Nirvana, and likewise, exhaust the aggregates. Study.

For those who have gone to the other shore, the one who dispels all doubts, for those who should learn and need to learn, if there is anything to ask, please tell me. This verse expresses Brahma's request to the Bhagavan, asking if he has reached the pinnacle of all practices, if he has proceeded from the unsurpassed benefit of his own perfection, and by cutting off the doubts of all sentient beings, accomplished the unsurpassed benefit of others. After praising him first, he asked: What are the practices that should be practiced, how many are there, and how should they be practiced? Then, the Bhagavan, considering those who are afraid and lazy due to the multitude of affairs, in order to arouse their interest, summarized all the practices, saying: Friends, in short, there are three practices: higher discipline, higher mind, higher wisdom. You should listen to what these practices are. Thus, he briefly pointed out the three practices. Among them, from the perspective of discipline, meditation, and wisdom, in order to show the practice of non-distraction for those whose minds are distracted, there is higher discipline; in order to show the practice of concentration for those whose minds are concentrated, there is higher mind; even if one is already concentrated, in order to show the practice of liberation for those whose minds are not yet liberated, there is higher wisdom. Because all the actions of the yogis will be perfectly accomplished, the Bhagavan taught with the intention of including all practices within these three practices. One should practice these, that is, through what practice can these practices be perfected. Among them, having six branches, abiding in the bliss of the four abodes, the four aspects of the four abodes, are always pure wisdom. This verse sequentially shows the methods of practicing these three practices. Having six branches, refers to focusing on the practice of higher discipline, the six branches are: abiding in possessing discipline, being restrained by the vows of individual liberation, possessing rituals, possessing conduct, regarding even the slightest faults as fearful, and truly
