Here, the mind generates a sense of satisfaction. By whom is this world destroyed? It is done by the foolish. Having initially settled in it, therefore, one accepts elaboration. What is settled? The noble ones know it as suffering. Because it does not subside even for a moment, therefore, children always experience suffering. The mind is completely bound by disharmony, and such sufferings increase from all sides. Children accumulate all of that, the cause of pride, pleasure, and pain. All children are attached to that, like an elephant sinking into a large mud pit. There, they become even more completely deluded, going everywhere and using everything. The continuums of the world, whatever is unbearable, all those continuums are no different from that ocean. That cannot be dried by fire, wind, or sun, except by the practice of Dharma. The nature of suffering, I think of myself as suffering, or even in pleasure, I definitely think of it as pleasure. Because it is born from the view of complete discrimination, it also gives rise to that, and that also gives rise to it. Always afflicted mind, afflictions arise and cease together. Therefore, from those afflictions, one is not liberated but transformed. That is not born later, but another becomes pure. That too was previously afflicted, and is said to be liberated from all afflictions. What is afflicted is different here. The pure one is naturally clear. Nothing is defiled in this, and from nothing does the self change. Because all seeds are well-illuminated, all afflictions are completely exhausted. Therefore, there are no afflictions in that. Therefore, two differences are shown. Each one's own wisdom, and because even suffering is completely exhausted, thus, because there is no elaboration, in all aspects, one does not elaborate. The continuum is called a person, and the nature is known as Dharma. Here, there is no samsara, and no one attains nirvana. For the sake of counteracting the two extremes of superimposition and denigration. The verses of the ultimate truth of the selflessness of the person, in that case, the master is the one who is taken, the agent is the one of the actions, the experiencer is the one of their fruits, the verses.

This half-verse refutes the self by thoroughly examining different meanings. All dharmas are without function. This statement refutes the view of considering dharmas as self, thereby completely abandoning the extreme of superimposition. Although this is the case, the statement "there is function" completely abandons the extreme of denigration arising from the existence of dharmas. Among these, there are three kinds of function: the function of a master, the function of a doer, and the function of a feeler. Function refers to considering something as a master, a doer, or a feeler. Since it is not specified what these dharmas are, it is said to be "a limb of existence." This half-verse fully demonstrates what the aggregates, etc., are, according to the order of the limbs of existence. Mentioning the aggregates, elements, and sense bases is because they are the antidotes to clinging to a master, a doer, and a feeler. For example, depending on the eye and forms, eye consciousness arises as a result, but there is no feeling at all. The eighteen elements fully demonstrate that there is no feeler. As for the demonstrated "no master," how is it that there is none? The statement "After examining all these, a person cannot be determined" explains this. "If examined" refers to examining the three valid cognitions. If it is determined that there is none, then how can the distinction between internal and external be established? In response to this, the sutra says, "Everything internal is empty, and everything external that is known is also empty." This indicates that it is merely a distinction. Then, how can the distinction as an examiner be established for the object to be examined? In response to this, the sutra says, "Whoever meditates on emptiness, that person also does not exist." Then, how can the distinction between noble ones and ordinary beings be established? In response to this, the sutra says, "The self is without self, it is merely a reversed clinging." This indicates that the nature of noble ones and ordinary beings is not accomplished by their own nature, but is merely a reversed clinging. Then, how can the distinction between others and self be established? In response to this, the sutra says, "Here there is no self or sentient being." Then, how can afflictions

, and how are purification and establishment accomplished? Therefore, the phrase "All dharmas have causes" was spoken. Because there is nothing that is completely defiled or completely purified. If it is said that "All dharmas have no function," then it is not explained how there is no function. Therefore, the phrase "All actions are momentary, where is there an unstable action?" was spoken. Although this is so, if it is said that "there is function," then if there is no function, how will function arise? Therefore, the phrase "Whatever is born is the time, that is called the agent" was spoken. Because it is the result, it is the function. Because it is the cause, it is the agent. Birth refers to the arising of consciousness from the sense bases, which shows that without eyes, etc., consciousness cannot arise. If it is said that "All dharmas have no function," then it shows no function in six ways: There is no combination of function, which is shown by "The eye does not see forms," etc. There is no function of the agent who follows, that is, "These bless and act, and there is no causing to act," because there is no lord and no agent, so in order, who will be followed to act? There is no function of arising, that is, "It is not born by another." The function of arising is "The self also does not arise." There is no function of change, that is, "Things arise dependently, not old but new, new and again new." There is no function of destruction, that is, "This is not destroyed by another." There is no function of decay, that is, "The self also has no decay." If it is like arising dependently, will it also decay dependently? Therefore, the phrase "If there is a condition, then it will arise, and having arisen, it will naturally perish" was spoken. Because it was said that "All dharmas have causes," therefore, it shows that the nature of complete defilement, the dharmas of householders and renunciants, all have causes, that is, "It depends on the two sides."
