The four establishments of mindfulness, the four right abandonments, the four legs of magical power, the five faculties, the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the four analytical knowledges, the four abodes of Dharma, tranquility, insight, higher discipline, higher mind, higher wisdom, the trainings, the liberations, the spheres of overcoming, and the spheres of exhaustion. What is arising? It is that which is completely bound by afflictions. What is dormant? It is the dormant afflictions. What is connection? It should be understood that the six sense bases are interconnected in one body. Furthermore, it should be understood that those dharmas by which dharmas arise are interconnected. The faculties and the objects should also be understood as being connected by way of grasping and being grasped. What is collection? Collection is of sixteen kinds: collection of causes, collection of characteristics, collection of lineages, collection of states, collection of non-difference, collection of times, collection of places, collection of one part, collection of all, collection of ultimate meaning, collection of aggregates, collection of elements, collection of sense bases, collection of dependent origination, collection of places and non-places, and collection of faculties. What is correspondence? It should be understood as being of five kinds: corresponding by means of another's entity, but not by means of one's own entity. Corresponding by means of another's entity, the non-contradictory correspond, but the contradictory do not. Corresponding by means of the non-contradictory, the small, medium, and large themselves correspond, but others do not correspond with others. Corresponding by means of the small, medium, and large, those that arise at that time correspond with those that arise at that time, but those that arise at other times do not correspond with those that arise at other times. Those are similar to their places, but not similar to other places. What is designation? Four designations, namely: the designation of seeing, the designation of hearing, the designation of distinguishing, and the designation of consciousness. What is reliance? Four kinds of food, namely: morsel food, contact, intention, and consciousness food. What is the order? Six kinds of order, namely: the order of entering, the order of accomplishing activities, the order of teaching, the order of birth, the order of realization, and the order of meditative absorption. In summary: activities, objects, application, quiescence and insight, attention and instruction, qualities and enlightenment are taught. What are the activities? Eight activities, namely: cessation of place, transformation of place, complete knowledge of the object, delight in the object, obtaining the result, detachment, transformation of faculties, and accomplishment of supernormal powers. What is the object? Four objects, namely: focusing on what should be pervaded, focusing on practicing various practices, focusing on the skilled, and focusing on the purification of afflictions. What is application? That is fourfold or ninefold. The four are: faith, desire, diligence, and means. The nine are: the worldly path, the path beyond the world, the path of application, the path of immediacy, the path of liberation, the excellent path, the small path, the medium path, and the great path. What is quiescence? The nine mental abidings. What is insight? It should be observed as having three bases, four aspects, and six objects of differentiation. Among them, the three bases are: signlessness, seeking, and individual discrimination. Among them, the four aspects are: distinguishing phenomena, being skilled in distinguishing, being completely constant, and being completely observant. Among them, the six objects of differentiation are: focusing on meaning, focusing on things, focusing on characteristics, focusing on direction, focusing on time, and focusing on reason. What is attention?
