At the time, because one does not attend to all signs, one focuses on the realm of signlessness. Therefore, it is called touching the touch of signlessness. Dhyana, liberation, samadhi, and samapatti have already been discussed. The Blessed One said to the monks, "For the sake of inner peace of mind, strive for inner right concentration." Regarding what was said, one should dwell on beds and secluded cushions, from dwelling in solitude to sitting, one should cultivate extensively. Mindfulness being present, this is called inner right concentration, which is the solitude of the body. The inner peace of mind is the nine ways of the mind abiding, which is the solitude of the mind. Among them, inner right concentration accomplishes inner peace. Inner peace of mind accomplishes vipassana. Vipassana accomplishes the correct and clear manifestation of all purified dharmas as they truly are. The Blessed One said to the monks, "Constantly and diligently cultivate immeasurable samadhi with mindfulness." Regarding what was said, he taught the cultivation of samadhi and explained three ways of cultivation. Among them, what is called immeasurable refers to the four immeasurables. What is called constant diligence means doing constantly and skillfully, which is called constant diligence. What is called mindfulness means the mind abiding in the four foundations of mindfulness. Why are three ways of cultivation explained? Because perfection has two aspects: mundane and supramundane. Among them, cultivating the immeasurable accomplishes mundane perfection. Mindfulness accomplishes supramundane perfection. Constant diligence makes the realization of both rapid. Therefore, it is taught between the two, and what is to be taught is only these three. Furthermore, what is called immeasurable is the path of shamatha. What is called mindfulness is the path of vipassana. What is called constant diligence is the path that quickly and correctly accomplishes both. Furthermore, it is the path to go to merit and to be liberated from suffering.

It shows the path to liberation and points out the path to quickly achieve both. Previously, after being completely proficient in tranquility, if you meditate on these two types of samadhi that possess insight, then knowable things will appear as they truly are. The Blessed One extensively stated the concluding verses of the sutra, "Meditators are skilled in samadhi, but not skilled in attainment." What does it mean to be skilled in samadhi? It is because they are skilled in the three samadhis, such as emptiness. What does it mean to be unskilled in attainment? It is because they are unskilled in the superior states, the all-encompassing states, and the cessation attainment. What does it mean to be skilled in attainment but unskilled in samadhi? They are skilled in entering and emerging from the attainments, from possessing the ten all-encompassing states attainments to the attainment of non-perception, but they are not skilled in the three samadhis. Skilled in both means skilled in both. Unskilled in both means unskilled in both. Therefore, these samadhis as previously shown should be applied accordingly wherever appropriate. Furthermore, saying "skilled in samadhi but unskilled in attainment" means understanding from the name, words, and letters of samadhi, but not understanding with what form, sign, and characteristic one enters into attainment. What does it mean to be skilled in attainment but unskilled in samadhi? For example, some people know with what form, sign, and characteristic one enters into a certain samadhi, and they enter into it accordingly, but they do not know "I have entered into this samadhi," and they do not understand the name, words, and letters of that samadhi. Bodhisattvas possess hundreds and thousands of samadhis of any attainment. Have they not heard from the Buddha or the noble Bodhisattvas who have reached the other shore? Or have they themselves not become those who have reached the other shore?
