And, what is the state of individual discernment, that is the samadhi of the noble ones. From the context of the four abodes of comfort in this life, it is established as a limb, and from the context of individual discernment on dependent origination, it is established as five limbs in order to abandon all remaining bonds. Thus, it should be observed that they are established in two ways. Fourteenth fascicle. What is the noble right samadhi, with its cause and equipment? Here, the noble one is noble by virtue of goodness and being without outflows. The five limbs of the path are its cause, namely right view, right thought, right speech, right action, and right livelihood. Right view, right effort, and right mindfulness are the equipment. The Blessed One, having gathered these together, said that the seven limbs of the path are also the cause of the noble right samadhi, and also said to be the equipment. These should be understood accordingly. Among them, due to the order of precedence, the five are the cause. Due to the equipment of samadhi, the three are the equipment. How does right view precede? If one knows that there are Arhats who have truly entered in the world, and thereby generates the desire for manifestation, having obtained right view, then subsequently one truly considers in detail that dwelling in a house is harmful for the sake of manifestation. Therefore, one goes forth, thereby making discipline and livelihood completely pure, thereby his right speech, action, and livelihood will arise. His right view, etc., having abandoned the aspects that are incompatible with them, such as wrong view, etc., he relies on and abides in those five virtuous dharmas, and because he has abandoned the dharma that is incompatible with it, because it arises from the cause of the sound of others, thereby he generates the right view that arises from hearing. In order to abandon the dharma that is incompatible with it, in the manner of individual discernment, relying on what arises from hearing, thereby he generates what arises from thinking, which has become a collection of paths. From thinking

Depending on arising, it arises from cultivation, and with this right view, regarding wrong view as wrong view, and regarding right view as right view, truly knowing right view as it is, and completely knowing right livelihood, joy arises for the sake of abandoning wrong views and the like, and perfecting right views and the like. That which abandons its discordant aspects, and that which perfects these dharmas, that is what truly accomplishes, that is his right mindfulness. Since mindfulness is also a part of samadhi, it is also properly taught in samadhi. In between what is abandoning wrong views and the like, and perfecting right views and the like, at the time of the path of application in between, it also abandons wrong effort and wrong mindfulness, and also perfects right effort and right mindfulness. At the time of abandoning them and perfecting them, at the same time, the noble right samadhi is also completely perfected. To this, the wisdom that precedes it is used to combine with higher discipline. What is the attention that arises from the cause of the sound of others, and what is the training of higher discipline, relying on these two, at the time of the path of application, the training of higher mind and higher wisdom arises. Among them, what is right mindfulness, that is the training of higher mind. What is right view and right effort, that is the training of higher wisdom, these three trainings, at the time of the noble right samadhi, are completely perfected. What is the vajra-like samadhi? It is the marginal samadhi of all learners, that is the most excellent, the most important, the most essential, and the afflictions of the near ones cannot overcome it, and because the afflictions cannot overcome it, it is called vajra-like, just as the vajra is the essence of all jewels, just as it can cut off anything that cannot be cut off, here it is also called similar to the vajra. What are the five samapattis of the path of seeing? Here, a monk...

As extensively explained in the sutras, this very place is like that. Those who enter into seeing are those who enter into the samadhi of seeing. Through cultivation, the antidote that can subdue all-pervadingly, and the antidote of abandonment, and separate attention from abandonment. It should be known that this is the summarized body of those. Among them, the first is based on the mindfulness arising from impure conduct, in order to prevent desire from arising, and to pay attention to the impurity of the inner body. The second is based on that, in order to prevent that from arising, and to pay attention to the human skeleton, which is to pay attention to the impurity of the outer body. With just this, one can pay attention to all impurities. Among them, "paying more attention, paying more attention" means that the words have already exceeded the order of paying attention to various distinctions, etc. The first impurity is paying attention to the impurity that dwells and resides in the inner body. The latter understands the nature of reality, that this body is also of this kind of nature, and will become like this, and so on. Paying attention to the continuum of consciousness means paying attention to its arising and ceasing. Those who take rebirth in samsara pay attention to consciousness due to the cause of action. Those who take rebirth in a continuous moment pay attention to the aspects of those with and without desire, etc. Those who have passed through those days and nights, moments, instants, and short periods, pay attention to the various and numerous, various births and deaths. Among them, the learner who has not abandoned desire pays attention to dwelling in both worlds. Those who have abandoned desire are only in the other world. Arhats pay attention to not dwelling anywhere. This is their abandonment of attention. The samadhis of overcoming places and pervasive places, etc., have already been explained. The samadhi of non-perception is the teaching of auspicious increase.
