In short, to distinguish between wasting time and not wasting time, people are divided into four types: the time to master all dharmas, the time to hold, the time to closely understand the meaning, and the time to practice dharmas that are in accordance with the Dharma, thereby establishing four reliances. The establishment is complete. From these dharmas such as meditation, one should also understand attention and object. Among them, attention has seven fundamental types and forty other types of attention. What are the seven fundamental attentions? They are: individually knowing characteristics, arising from aspiration, arising from solitude, accumulating joy, attention of investigation, ultimate union, and attention of the fruit of ultimate union. What are the forty other attentions? They are: attention focused on Dharma, attention focused on meaning, attention focused on body, feeling, mind, and Dharma, attention of aspiration, attention of suchness, attention of learning, non-learning, neither learning nor non-learning, attention of complete knowledge, attention of abandonment, attention at the time of abandonment, attention focused on images with conceptualization, attention focused on images without conceptualization, attention focused on the limits of things, attention focused on the complete accomplishment of needs, attention of discriminating aspiration, causing near quiescence, practicing one part, practicing two parts, constant attention, regarding as base and attending, arising from conformity, arising from antidote, suitable for aversion, suitable for individual examination, entering diligently, entering intermittently, entering with effort, entering naturally, attention of discrimination, truly gathering within, purifying obscurations, purifying the field of activity through the accomplishment of the basis, done by others, realized individually by oneself, vast, all

It is the mind-making that goes into it. What is it to focus on the Dharma? It is the one that is in accordance with the wisdom arising from hearing. To focus on the meaning is the one that is in accordance with the wisdom arising from thinking and the wisdom arising from meditation. From focusing on the body to focusing on the Dharma, it is the mind-making that properly makes the mind focus on the body and so on, which is devoted to mindfulness. The mind-making of faith is the one that the meditators believe in the objects of the signs as they wish. The only mind-making is the mind-making that properly makes the mind focus on the Dharma with its own characteristics, common characteristics, and the characteristics of suchness. The nature of the learner and the continuum are of two kinds. The nature is the mind-making of the learner without leakage. The continuum is all the mind-making of the learner's virtue. Just like the learner, the non-learner should also be known to be divided into two kinds. Neither a learner nor a non-learner is all the mind-making of the world. The mind-making of complete knowledge is the mind-making that completely knows the object, but does not abandon the defilements. The mind-making of abandonment is the one that does both. The mind-making of the time of abandonment is the mind-making after the abandonment of defilements. The mind-making that focuses on the image with conceptualization is the one who meditates on the higher view by focusing on the body of conceptualization with any mind-making. Focusing on the image without conceptualization is the one who meditates on tranquility by focusing on the body without conceptualization with any mind-making. To focus on the edge of things is to focus on the edge of the body, feeling, mind, and Dharma with any mind-making, so there is nothing from no body to no Dharma. The mind-making that focuses on the complete accomplishment of the need is, I think this way, and if I think this way, it will become this and this, and this and this will also be accomplished, and whatever is the object of complete purification.
