The antidote to the opposing side. This means that Bodhisattvas cultivate the four right abandonments, starting from those who enjoy themselves in samsara, in order to abandon the obstacles and unfavorable aspects for the sake of ultimate sentient beings. This is the meaning. These are the distinctions of cultivating the four right abandonments. Relying on faith, cultivate yoga, along with signs. In all the right abandonments, where is the antidote explained? These verses show the cultivation of the four right abandonments, in which cultivating calm abiding and insight while relying on and abiding in faith is called cultivating yoga. Cultivating calm abiding and insight is also cultivated along with the sign of calm abiding, the sign of encouragement, and the sign of equanimity. Such cultivation is said to be the antidote to all interruptions in the above distinction of right abandonments. This means generating faith and diligence, etc. Relying on faith, cultivate yoga, etc. With one verse, it explains the meaning of the five phrases in the Sutra Pitaka: generating faith and diligence, initiating effort, mindfully abiding, and rightly applying the mind. Among them, generating faith is the basis of diligence. Diligence, initiating effort, mindfully abiding, and rightly applying the mind are the nature of diligence. Relying on faith, cultivate calm abiding and insight, etc. In this way, based on the desire to not generate unwholesome and non-virtuous dharmas that have not yet arisen, to abandon those that have arisen, to generate virtuous dharmas that have not yet arisen, to abandon those that have arisen, to generate virtuous dharmas that have not yet arisen, and to increase those that have arisen, the yogi cultivates the yoga of calm abiding and insight first in order to abandon afflictions, which is called diligence. That cultivation, along with calm abiding and encouragement, etc., cultivating calm abiding and insight is not only cultivating calm abiding and insight alone, but also the cause of calm abiding and insight, along with the sign of calm abiding, the sign of encouragement, and the sign of equanimity.

Practice, such practice is called having characteristics. How to practice? Regarding "as an antidote to the proximity of afflictions of sinking and agitation," etc., how to practice with the characteristics of calming, praising, and abandoning? The proximity of afflictions of sinking and agitation arise and interrupt. When the mind is suppressed by sleepiness and drowsiness and becomes sinking, then remembering the qualities of the Tathagata or the fruits of meditation, remembering the characteristics of praise, thereby generating joy in the mind. When the mind is distracted by the qualities of desire and becomes agitated, remembering the faults of samsara, such as birth, old age, sickness, and death, remembering the characteristics of calming, thereby subduing the mind. Such conduct is called exertion. How to exert? Regarding "the mind extremely holding and truly abiding," for the antidote to sinking and agitation, the characteristics of calming and the characteristics of insight, how is exertion exerted? Exerting in the manner of the mind extremely holding and truly abiding. By abandoning the two, sinking and agitation, obtaining the equality of mind, this is called the mind extremely holding. After that, the mind not moving, abiding in the nature of abandonment, this is called truly abiding. As it is said, practicing these in yoga, regarding "generating faith and diligence," etc., practicing these in five ways, these are what was said above in the correct abandonment differentiation, said to be the antidote to interruption. Regarding the differentiation of the feet of miraculous power, there are five verses, regarding "after the correct abandonment, explaining the chapter on the feet of miraculous power, what is the connection?" Thus, for the sake of not generating unwholesome dharmas of evil that have not arisen, abandoning those that have arisen, generating wholesome dharmas that have not arisen, and increasing those that have arisen, the samadhi of not allowing the mind to enter into the evil dharmas made by diligence is obtained, therefore after the correct abandonment, the chapter on the feet of miraculous power is explained in connection. Among them, miraculous power is when
