Knowing the variety of names, for example, knowing all the various names for ignorance, such as ignorance, delusion, unknowing, darkness, gloom, and so on, is the characteristic of knowing each dharma as it is. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: What is knowing each dharma as it is? It is knowing what follows all dharmas, such as virtue and non-virtue, with and without fault, with and without defilements, conditioned and unconditioned, and so on, which are extensively taught. Knowing the individual and general characteristics of all dharmas without obstruction is called knowing each meaning as it is. The individual characteristic is the hardness of earth, the wetness of water, and so on. The general characteristics are impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, which are the characteristics of knowing each meaning as it is. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: What is knowing each meaning as it is? It is knowing the ultimate truth of all dharmas as they are, such as knowing dharma, knowing individual distinctions, knowing what follows, knowing cause, knowing condition, knowing non-duality, and so on, which are extensively taught. Knowing the various languages and words of each sentient being without obstruction is called knowing each definitive word as it is, which is knowing the languages of all sentient beings, such as gods and nagas. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: What is knowing each definitive word as it is? It is knowing how to enter the languages of all sentient beings, such as the language of gods, the language of nagas, gandharvas, asuras, and so on, which are extensively taught. Alternatively, knowing the words of all grammatical treatises without obstruction is called knowing each definitive word as it is. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: Furthermore, knowing each definitive word as it is means that these dharmas should be examined in this way, these dharmas should be tamed in this way, these dharmas should be connected in this way, and so on, which are extensively

Ra said. Whether it is a kalpa or the end of a kalpa, explaining one dharma, etc., even if explained, the words will not be exhausted, and all sentient beings can refute and be able to respond to all opponents, possessing wisdom, etc., is called individual perfect knowledge. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: "What is individual perfect knowledge? For example, knowing how to advise without attachment, showing how to advise without deficiency, knowing how to show how to advise without obstruction, quick eloquence, upright eloquence, and swift eloquence," etc., are widely explained. First, it is called knowing the variety of names, that is, with individual perfect knowledge, knowing how many different names a single dharma has, and knowing how many different names there are for all dharmas, such as virtue and non-virtue. The so-called "name of any meaning" means that for any dharma such as aggregates and realms, what name is established, and knowing what the meaning of that name is and the common characteristics is called knowing the meaning. The so-called "different languages in different regions" means knowing various languages such as gods and humans, which is called knowing the definitive words individually. The so-called "self-nature eloquence" means that even if the Dharma is explained with names, words, and various letters until the end of samsara, it will not be exhausted. This is called individual perfect knowledge, and these words show the characteristics of the four individual perfect knowledge. For individual perfect knowledge, do not say five kinds or more, nor say three kinds or fewer. Why is it determined to be only four kinds? Therefore, for the teachings, be extremely diligent. What and what are used to teach? That is, the two kinds of Dharma and meaning, and the two kinds of words and wisdom are used to show. Etc., two verses are spoken. When Bodhisattvas begin to explain conditioned and unconditioned, defiled and undefiled dharmas to sentient beings, what do they explain and with what do they explain? Because they explain in two ways, only four kinds of individual perfect knowledge are explained, neither more nor less. So, what do they explain and show? That is, they explain the two kinds of Dharma and meaning.
