is called relying on the meaning. All worldly phenomena are called words, and relying on them is called relying on words. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: What is meaning? What is letter? The so-called letter refers to the teaching of entering worldly phenomena and actions. The so-called meaning refers to the realization of phenomena that transcend the world. Alternatively, all conventional phenomena are called dharma. All ultimate phenomena are called meaning. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: The so-called letter refers to the teaching of generosity, discipline, morality, and determination. The so-called meaning refers to knowing the equality of generosity, discipline, morality, and determination, and so on, which are extensively explained. So, what is a sutra of definitive meaning? What is a sutra of provisional meaning? All those that teach the path and means to attain the fruit of nirvana or to realize the meaning of the Dharma are called sutras of provisional meaning. Whatever shows the very nature of the fruit and the very meaning of the Dharma is called a sutra of definitive meaning. Alternatively, teaching conventional truths is called a sutra of interpretable meaning. Teaching the characteristics of ultimate truth is called a sutra of definitive meaning. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: What is a sutra of definitive meaning? What is a sutra of provisional meaning? Those sutras that teach entering the path are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that are taught for the sake of entering the fruit are called definitive meaning. Those sutras that teach conventional truths are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that teach ultimate truths are called definitive meaning, and so on, which are extensively explained. So, what is consciousness? What is wisdom? The consciousness of sentient beings in the desire realm relies on the form aggregate. The consciousness of sentient beings in the form realm relies on the feeling aggregate. The consciousness of sentient beings in the formless realms of infinite space, infinite consciousness, and nothingness

It relies on the aggregate of consciousness. The consciousness of sentient beings in the realm of neither perception nor non-perception relies on the aggregate of formation. This is called consciousness. Those consciousnesses that understand emptiness by nature and do not discriminate objects such as form are called wisdom. Therefore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it is also said: What is consciousness? What is wisdom? What is called consciousness is the four abodes of consciousness. What are the four? It is like this: When consciousness abides, it approaches and abides in form. When consciousness abides, it approaches feeling, and approaches perception, and approaches and abides in formation. This is called consciousness. What is wisdom in that? It is said that whoever knows all the aggregates of consciousness that abide in the four aggregates is called wisdom, and so on, extensively. Why did the Bhagavan explain the four separate reliances? What is the need? Therefore, it is said: Slander and what is said, Perverted knowledge and, Obtaining with speech and, Here, it is said to refute self. The explanation of the four separate reliances is also to refute the person who slanders the scriptures, and to refute the person who holds onto what is said, and to refute the person who understands perversely, and to refute the person who is attached to wisdom with speech, so the four separate reliances are explained. Among them, the first separate reliance is not the Sutra spoken by the Bhagavan. It's wrong! It is spoken by the devil, so it is said to refute the person who slanders. The words of those who slander are not valid, but the words of the Bhagavan are valid, so it is said that it is not the follower of the Dharma. The second separate reliance is to hold onto the meaning of unborn and non-existent, and killing the father and killing the mother, etc., with the fruit and words as they are literally. It is said to refute the person who does not distinguish the intention of those. Therefore, it is said that one should rely on the meaning, not on the words. It is said that killing the father and killing the mother, etc.
