Actions such as rising and prostrating are ways of understanding how to please the world through physical means. How through speech? This means, how can one satisfy the world through speech? "The steadfast ones speak first." In this statement, if one encounters people of superior, equal, or inferior status, speaking kind words such as "Have you come in peace?" from the very beginning is how to please others through speech. Why? This means, why should one make the world happy and satisfied through smiling and speaking frankly? "Because beings are vessels." In this statement, in order to make those beings who are to be tamed into vessels for the sacred Dharma, one should generate joy in beings through body and speech. For what reason do they become vessels? This means, since it is said that beings are to be made into vessels, for what Dharma should one generate joy and satisfaction? "For the sake of accomplishing the sacred Dharma." In this statement, in order to make them understand the meaning of the Great Vehicle and to make them into vessels for practice, one makes others happy through body and speech. Up to this point, understanding the world has been shown through understanding terminology. How does one understand the truths? This means that even if one understands the Four Noble Truths, understanding the world is steadfast. How does one understand in order to be said to understand the Four Noble Truths? That is, if one understands arising and cessation, it can be determined that one understands the Four Noble Truths. "From two truths, the world also constantly arises." This means that understanding the arising of the world is understanding the arising of the world from the two truths of the Truth of Suffering and the Truth of the Origin. "With these two, one knows cessation." This means that understanding the cessation of the world from the two truths of the Truth of Cessation and the Truth of the Path is understanding the cessation of the world. Therefore, it is said that one understands the world, that is, one understands the arising of the world from two truths, and one understands the cessation of the world from two truths, so

It is called "Knowing the World." Knowing the world through the two truths, etc., through the two truths of suffering and origin, one knows the arising of the world. Thus, as samsara arises again and again, that which is born and that which causes birth are the arising of the world. Among them, that which is born is the arising of the truth of suffering. That which causes birth is caused by the truth of origin. Through the two that cease, etc., through the two truths, one knows the cessation of the world, which are the truths of cessation and the path. Among them, that which ceases and that by which it ceases, that which ceases is the cessation of all sufferings by the truth of cessation. That by which it ceases is ceased by the truth of the path. Knowing the arising of the world through the two truths and knowing the cessation of the world through the two truths is called "Knowing the World." If it is said that the eon of suffering and origin is the nature of the world, knowing that should be called knowing the world. If cessation and the path are like transcendent dharmas, should knowing that be called knowing the world? The answer is: Because one possesses the knowledge of the arising and cessation of the world, etc., it is said. Suffering and origin also refer only to the five aggregates of clinging. Cessation and the path also abide in the five aggregates of clinging, and do not abide separately from them. Therefore, knowing the four truths becomes knowing all the nature of the world. For the sake of pacifying and attaining, the wise strive in the truths. Because those who know the truths, the wise are called knowers of the world. Among them, knowing the four truths is also for the sake of pacifying suffering and origin, and for the sake of attaining the two, cessation and the path. One strives with the four truths, pacifying suffering and origin, and attaining cessation and the path is the activity of knowing the world. Thus, knowing the four truths, one knows all the nature of the world without exception. Therefore, knowing the four truths is called knowing the world. There are three verses on individual discernment and differentiation, thus it is said.
