Just as being adorned with flowers makes one beautiful among many companions, a Bodhisattva adorned with the ornaments of shame and embarrassment also appears beautiful and excellent when the son of the king, becoming his own friend, goes to the center of the assembly of Bodhisattvas, that is its meaning. Like a mother, loving tamer, the assembly of shameful Bodhisattvas. This shows that shame and embarrassment are like the mother of the world. For example, the mother of the world is loving, cherishing, and compassionate towards her child, and does not abandon the child indifferently. Similarly, a Bodhisattva with shame and embarrassment also loves, cherishes, and pities all sentient beings like a child, and does not easily abandon sentient beings, that is its meaning. If sentient beings who are able to be rescued are treated indifferently, one will feel ashamed. The reason for placing shame and embarrassment as being like a mother is that if Bodhisattvas have the ability to save and liberate sentient beings from the suffering of samsara, but abandon them indifferently, then Bodhisattvas will feel ashamed. Therefore, in order not to abandon them indifferently, they are like a mother, that is its meaning. From all the faults of samsara, the shameful one protects. This shows that shame and embarrassment are like horses and elephants, etc. For example, horses, elephants, and armies, etc., are able to protect the king's rule and territory from being invaded by enemies. Similarly, the army of shame and embarrassment of Bodhisattvas can also protect sentient beings from being controlled by the enemy of afflictions such as greed when benefiting sentient beings in samsara. Taking the example of clothing, etc., these five examples, the example of clothing, the example of the sky, the example of decoration, the example of a person, and the example of horses and elephants, show the five functions of shame and embarrassment. Abiding in the antidote to afflictions, etc., abiding refers to sitting in the lotus position, remembering from yoga, which is meditation. The example of clothing shows that when a Bodhisattva remembers meditation in yoga, sh

Thus, it is shown that shame is an antidote to the arising of afflictions. Regarding "In conduct, an antidote to worldly dharmas": Conduct refers to actions such as begging for alms in cities. Using the example of space, it shows that a person with shame and embarrassment, when engaging in actions such as begging for alms, will not be tainted by the eight worldly dharmas such as gain and loss, and can become an antidote. Regarding "Living in harmony with those who possess the Dharma": Possessing the Dharma refers to bodhisattva friends who share the same Dharma. Using the example of ornaments, it shows that a person with shame and embarrassment, even if dwelling among a gathering of bodhisattvas, can be in harmony with their conduct and dwell beautifully. Regarding "In harmony with maturing sentient beings": It shows that shame and embarrassment are in harmony with maturing sentient beings. For example, just as a mother would not abandon her child, if one possesses shame and embarrassment, one will not abandon sentient beings. Regarding "In harmony with samsara without afflictions": Using the example of horses and elephants, it shows that even though one enters samsara for the benefit of sentient beings, one can dwell in samsara without afflictions. For example, just as elephants and others protect the country, if one is seized by shame and embarrassment, even if one dwells in samsara, the bodhisattva will not be tainted by afflictions such as desire, and thus can act as a protector. "Not enduring everything, enduring and entering into everything, also entering into everything, signs born of shame and embarrassment." This shows that four signs arise from shame and embarrassment. If these four signs appear, one should know that the bodhisattva possesses the Dharma of shame and embarrassment. Among them, regarding incompatible qualities, such as shamelessness and lack of embarrassment, and when faults such as greed and hatred arise in the mind, one will not tolerate them, but will quickly abandon them. This is the first sign. If qualities such as generosity and discipline arise in the mind, one will tolerate them and keep them in the mind. This is the second sign. Afterwards, one will not engage in or create evil and all unwholesome dharmas. This is the third sign. Regarding virtuous and meritorious dharmas that have not yet been cultivated
