From "complete accomplishment," cultivating love and so forth is best for the nine types of thoughts such as tasting, rejoicing, and manifesting joy. In the stage of the eighth bhumi and so on, love and so forth are naturally accomplished without effort or diligence, which is called "complete accomplishment." Abiding in this way is also the best practice. From "non-discrimination" and "one or two," contemplating self, sentient beings, and the immeasurable as non-discriminating, cultivating love and so forth is best. In the eighth bhumi, the actions of bodhisattvas are mixed and closely combined, so if one bodhisattva cultivates the immeasurable, other bodhisattvas also cultivate it, because the actions are unified, cultivating love and so forth is best. In order to make it easier to understand the above-mentioned meanings of offering to the Buddha, relying on a spiritual friend, and cultivating the immeasurable, it is briefly summarized in one verse: "Generate great faith in the Bhagavan, and always offer with respect with great objects." and so on. Here, for the Buddhas, the Bhagavans, knowing that the Buddhas, the Bhagavans, possess the qualities of Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, etc., generating faith in the mind, and always offering with great objects and always offering with respect, then all accomplishments will be obtained. Offering with robes, begging bowls, prostrations, circumambulations, etc., is called always offering with great objects, which is offering with gain and respect. Offering with listening, thinking, and meditating is called offering with respect, which is offering with practice. Thus, you have briefly explained the meaning of offering to the Buddha in verse. From "always attend to a beneficial friend with many qualities," a spiritual friend refers to one who possesses the above-mentioned qualities, as well as many qualities mentioned in the sutras and shastras, who benefits me in this life and also benefits in future lives.
