Then, in order to benefit others, one should practice the objects of gathering, which will be explained later. Among them, one verse explains the meaning of the perfections such as "number" and "its nature." "Enjoyment and self-body" and so on show the divisions of the perfections. In "number and its nature, order," etc., the perfections are explained with ten general meanings, which are number, etc. Among them, the perfections are determined to be six, showing that they cannot be more or less, which is explained by the meaning of number. The explanation from what is the nature of generosity to what is the nature of wisdom is the explanation of the meaning of nature. The explanation of why generosity is explained first and then discipline after generosity is explained by the meaning of order. In "definition, habituation, and qualities," etc., the explanation of why it is called generosity to why it is called wisdom is explained by the meaning of definition. The explanation of how to practice generosity to how to practice wisdom is explained by the meaning of habituation. The explanation of what are the qualities of generosity to what are the qualities of wisdom is explained by the meaning of definition. In "its divisions, collection, and dissimilar aspects," etc., the explanation of how many kinds of generosity are divided into to how many kinds of wisdom are divided into is explained by its divisions. If the six perfections are collected, they are collected into six kinds, and if they are collected again, only these are shown, which is explained by collection. The explanation of what is the dissimilar aspect of generosity to what is the dissimilar aspect of wisdom is explained by the dissimilar aspect. In "qualities mutually determined should be known," etc., the explanation that generosity also contains the six perfections to that wisdom also contains the six such as generosity is the explanation of mutually determining qualities. There are six verses of number and classification, that is, the number of perfections is explained as six, and it will not be said more as seven, etc., nor will it be said less as five, etc.

Why are there said to be six perfections? Because saying the perfections are definite means they are indicated by six verses. The first is, since it is said that the perfections of the pāramitās are indicated by six definite verses, how is the first verse indicated? By considering the cause of manifestation, not being controlled by afflictions, and having no reversed grasp of things, these six pāramitās are established. Therefore, the number cannot be more or less. Having enjoyment and a perfect body, and a perfect retinue manifest. Manifestation refers to the first enjoyment of saṃsāra, which is the gods. Its causes are generosity, ethics, patience, and diligence, these four. How do they become causes? For those who lack resources, such as Brahmins, householders, and outcastes, giving them food and clothing and other necessities leads to great enjoyment, and treasures and grains and so forth become perfect. Abandoning killing and so forth, guarding ethics, one's own body becomes perfect, one will not be born in the three lower realms, but will be born among gods and humans, and thus obtain the bodies of gods and humans. Even if others harm you, not being angry and not harming back, this perfection of patience makes the retinue perfect. In this life, not harming sentient beings, making them happy, in future lives, one will be loved by many people, and many people will gather around them, thus the retinue becomes perfect. Practicing the perfection of diligence, which is characterized by delighting in virtue, makes undertakings perfect. Because those who have diligence, whether they do virtuous deeds, or cultivate fields, trade, or other worldly affairs, whatever they undertake, all of them will be completed perfectly. Not being controlled by afflictions. The fifth, the perfection of meditation, makes one not controlled by afflictions. Why? Because the meditation of one-pointedness of mind
