It means "increasing separation." The so-called "for the sake of the difference of compassion" means that such a thought arises, and that such a giving is also given by the cause of compassion. "For what reason do sentient beings desire wealth, the wise give it to all beings," etc., with one verse, the meaning of the first half of the verse is shown by the latter half of the verse. Sentient beings are said to be sentient beings, for what reason, for what purpose, for what is stingy, and for what reason do sentient beings seek wealth and enjoyment, the wise Bodhisattvas give that cherished thing to sentient beings. In order to show that meaning, it is said, "People desire wealth for the sake of the body, the wise give it in hundreds of ways," sentient beings seek wealth for the sake of body and life, accumulate wealth, etc., wise Bodhisattvas, for the sake of body and life, seek the body and life, but give it to the beggars in hundreds of ways. When the body itself is given, but no suffering arises in the mind, what need is there to say about inferior wealth, that which has transcended the world, that by that one obtains joy, that is the best of that. This verse shows that the Bodhisattva's giving is transcendent, and is the supreme of the transcendent. Like worldly people, even after giving up external things, they will give rise to suffering and displeasure, but Bodhisattvas, in order not to disappoint the beggars, even if they give themselves in hundreds of ways, will not give rise to suffering and displeasure in their hearts, then what is there to say about the wealth and enjoyment that has become inferior in relation to the inner things, and that no displeasure arises after giving up? In this way, no displeasure arises even after giving up inner things, so the Bodhisattva's giving is called transcendent. Not only does no displeasure arise, but also giving up inner things, seeing that it can benefit sentient beings, will give rise to joy. What

The arising of a joyful mind is called supreme transcendence of the world. Since the wise one has all kinds of generosity, how can the beggar become happy with joy? Giving and taking, desiring satisfaction, even begging in this way does not bring joy. Thus it is said, the wise Bodhisattva gives everything that beggars desire, even body and life, even enjoyment. Seeing that the beggars are happy to receive enjoyment, just as the Bodhisattva's mind gives rise to a special joy. The giver, the Bodhisattva, gives wealth to the beggar, and the beggar takes what is given. The beggar also finds whatever wealth he wants. All the things he wants to do are also satisfied. After the wish is fulfilled, a special joy arises, but just as the Bodhisattva's special joy, joy does not arise in the beggars, that is its meaning. The wise one has everything, but even without wealth after giving, how does he see himself as having it? The beggar also does not see himself as having it in this way, even though he has all the enjoyment. Thus it is said, the wise Bodhisattvas give all external and internal things to the beggars, and even if the Bodhisattva has no wealth or enjoyment inside or outside, he is completely taken by great compassion, and because he has a great mind, he still thinks that he has enjoyment. Although the beggars have completely fulfilled their enjoyment by the Bodhisattva's generosity, they do not have the same idea as the Bodhisattva. The beggars who have wealth think that they have wealth and enjoyment, but that kind of thought is not so great, that is its meaning. How can the wise one properly and correctly perform this excellent generosity, satisfy the beggars, and regard this as a great benefit? How can one obtain extremely great benefits, and become the cause of obtaining benefits by giving to beggars? Thus it is said, on the other hand, the wise Bodhisattva performs generosity, also properly and correctly, with respect and without contempt, giving excellent generosity to the beggars, head
