Furthermore, regarding the meanings of impermanence and suffering, it is merely following inference. Because the meanings of impermanence and so on are not directly seen, it is not direct perception. During meditation, because one meditates while being obscured by the great darkness of the obscurations of knowable objects and afflictions, it is called unclear. Just as when a lamp is lit in a cave or room, it eliminates a small amount of darkness in the place where it is lit and makes that small place appear, similarly, the wisdom of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas also eliminates only a small amount of the obscurations of afflictions that exist in their own continuum, and with wisdom, they know and make appear that their own five aggregates of appropriation are without self, so it is like a covered lamp. For example, when the sun rises, countless rays of light and all the darkness of the world are eliminated, and the rays of light make everything that should appear appear, similarly, the wisdom and knowledge of a Bodhisattva are endowed with countless qualities, and they eliminate all the obscurations of knowable objects and afflictions, and a great light of wisdom arises that knows all that should be known, such as conventional and ultimate Dharma, without exception, so it is like the rising of the sun. Furthermore, from here onwards, six verses show that the six perfections are giving, supreme, excellent, and possess qualities. Therefore, it is said, "Basis and object, sign, dedication and cause, wisdom, basis and place, I also know giving as supreme." Among them, because it possesses eight kinds of supremacy, it is called the supreme perfection. The eight supremacies are the supreme basis, the supreme object, the supreme sign, the supreme dedication, the supreme cause, the supreme wisdom, the supreme field, and the supreme place. Among them, what is called the basis is the Bodhisattva, the basis refers to the giver, it is not like the giver, ordinary beings, Hearers, and Solitary Buddhas, but giving to a Bodhisattva, so it is the supreme basis. Object refers to the supreme inner object among material giving, and there are also three kinds of objects of giving, namely material giving, fearlessness giving, and...
