does not arise. Even if one speaks words of non-praise, the thought of Soroshi does not arise, so it is called non-joyful, this is the seventh characteristic. Among them, praise is speaking of virtues. Non-praise is to slander and speak of faults. Non-attachment, which means that the Bodhisattvas who dwell on the ground are endowed with the perfect enjoyment of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. They realize that even the enjoyment of Indra, Brahma, and the Wheel-Turning King is like something impure. They completely abandon those and renounce, so it is called non-attachment, this is the eighth characteristic. Skillful means, which means that the Bodhisattva who dwells on the ground has the wisdom of non-discrimination as a means to accomplish all the Buddha's teachings, so it is called skillful means, this is the ninth characteristic. That non-discriminating wisdom, how does it manifest as a means to accomplish all the Buddha's teachings? In the One Hundred Thousand Verses of the Prajnaparamita, it is said: Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, if they want to perfect the perfection of generosity, they should study the Prajnaparamita in a non-attached way. From then on, it is said: If you want to attain all-knowingness, you should study the Prajnaparamita in a non-attached way. Because it is said like this. Also born in the mandala. It means that the Bodhisattvas who dwell on the ground, for the benefit of sentient beings, by the power of their vows, except for being born in the realm of samadhi where there is no Buddha, wherever they are born, at any time, they are born in the mandala of the retinue where the Tathagata resides, this is the tenth characteristic. Therefore, from the first of the ten grounds, even if I die, I will not be eaten by ghosts, and I will not be separated from any Buddha or Bodhisattva. Therefore, he has no fear of falling into the lower realms. It is said like this. Skillful means, because it is known that non-attachment is the method of accomplishing Buddhahood. The method of accomplishing Buddhahood is non-attachment, because it is known that non-discriminating wisdom, so in all the grounds it is also non-discriminating wis

To abide in that place is called skillful means. Regarding the bodhisattva grounds, there are two verses for distinguishing the characteristics of attaining the perfections. It means that not only do the bodhisattvas who have attained the grounds have ten characteristics, but also the bodhisattvas who have attained the grounds attain ten perfections on each ground, and the two verses show the sixteen characteristics of attaining the ten perfections. Or, each ground perfects one perfection, and the two verses show the sixteen characteristics of perfecting each perfection. There are also two ways to explain the meaning of the sixteen verses: briefly summarizing in general, and explaining in detail. As for "not without desire," from entering the ground onwards, when cultivating the ten perfections, it is not without desire and aspiration, but when cultivating the perfections, there is a strong desire and aspiration, which is called "not without desire," which is a brief summary. In order to explain in detail that cultivating the perfections is not without aspiration, "without attachment" and so on are mentioned. Among them, clinging to the body and possessions and not giving them up is called attachment. Bodhisattvas who have entered the first ground, because they have attained equality of self and others, completely give all internal and external things to sentient beings, therefore, because there is no miserliness, which is the opposite of giving, they are called without attachment. Therefore, the first ground mainly emphasizes the perfection of giving, so it is said that in the first ground, among the ten perfections, the perfection of giving is the most excellent, but it is not that the other perfections are not cultivated diligently and truthfully. As for "without malice," killing sentient beings and taking what is not given, etc., practicing the ten non-virtuous deeds is called malice. Bodhisattvas who have entered the second ground do not even dream of practicing the ten non-virtuous deeds, so they are called without malice. Therefore,
