Because of realizing the nature of pervading all, and directly seeing the respective places, it is called the accomplished ground. Regarding accomplishment, there are two situations: unaccomplished and wanting to accomplish. Regarding the explanation of the accomplishment of the first ground and above, and the tenth ground and below, it can also be divided into two situations: wanting to establish as accomplished, and wanting to establish as unaccomplished. Among them, the first ground and above, and the seventh ground and below, are called unaccomplished, because it is necessary to diligently strive and cultivate the signless path with signs, so it is called the unaccomplished ground. The eighth, ninth, and tenth grounds are called accomplished grounds. Why? Because they abide in the spontaneously accomplished signless path. Therefore, for these grounds, the two situations of accomplishment and unaccomplishment have been shown. So, by what method are these accomplished grounds accomplished? As it is said: How to contemplate distinctions, that is the wisdom of examination, that nature is non-conceptual. Thus it is said. That is to say, for each ground, what are the merits of this ground, what are the faults of this ground, and what is the Dharma that should be cultivated in this ground, these all clearly appear in the mind. And, what are the merits of the higher ground, and what is the Dharma that should be cultivated in order to obtain the higher ground, these are also contemplated, this is called how to contemplate distinctions. For example, in order to accomplish the first ground, one also contemplates the merits of the first ground and the Dharma to be cultivated, and also contemplates the causal Dharmas that should be cultivated in order to obtain the second ground, this is called how to contemplate distinctions. Among them, contemplating the merits of the first ground, for example, in the first ground it is said: Sons of the Buddhas, in this sentient being accumulates vast roots of virtue, practices vast accumulations, and so on. One who has attained the first ground, contemplates the cause that should be cultivated in order to obtain the second ground, also in the first ground it is said: Sons of the Buddhas, thus the Bodhisattva diligently cultivates in the first ground, then generates superior faith in the second ground, and ten kinds of intentions arise in his mind. What are the ten? They are upright intention, gentle intention, capable intention, and so on. Or, in order to understand the meaning of each ground, (it is necessary to contemplate) the collection of names and the collection of words and

How are the collections of letters explained? How is it that mind and attention are established as attention? That is called attention. How is that attention established? It is known only as investigation, just as the mind itself appears as the established earth. Other than the mind, there is no external thing called earth. Understanding this is called knowing only as investigation. Then, after that, if there is no object to be grasped, where is the grasping mind? Like this, knowing only as investigation, one does not conceptualize. By meditating on the non-conceptual wisdom that is without conceptualization of grasper and grasped, one will initially attain it, and then further on. Then, from the liberation of the two graspings, surpassing the world, unsurpassed, non-conceptual, and stainless, one attains that wisdom. Therefore, the abode changes, and in the first ground, it is desire. Thus it is said. In the second ground and so on, in the higher grounds, by meditating in that way, one should understand that each ground is accomplished. Meditation and accomplishment, for each ground, are inconceivable, because each one can understand for themselves, and because it is the realm of activity of the Buddhas. Like this, the individual meditations from the first ground up to the tenth ground are also inconceivable. By meditating on those, one reaches the end of the ground, and the accomplishment of the ground is also inconceivable. Therefore, meditation and accomplishment, both, cannot be spoken of or determined by words. Why? Because the meditation and accomplishment of each ground are to be self-realized by the Bodhisattvas who have attained the ground, and are inconceivable, and because they occur in the realm of activity of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Therefore, they are inconceivable. Therefore, the meditation and accomplishment of the ground are not understood even by the minds of individual ordinary beings, and are not the object of verbal expression, so they are established as inconceivable. Therefore, the explanation of the first ten grounds, the Moon of Liberation made a request, and then the Bodhisattva Vajragarbha looked in the ten directions, in order to make all the retinue even more faithful. At that time, he spoke these verses: Subtle and white as crystal, the path of the great sage, not the realm of non-conceptualization, difficult to see, naturally peaceful and cessation.
