It is like this: once attached to the great ocean, one will be gathered by the wind wheel, so it is not necessary to go there specifically. Therefore, what the great ocean itself can contain is what has been traveled to and proceeded in the past, and even after a hundred years, it is impossible to reach so infinitely. O sons of the Victorious Ones, similarly, Bodhisattvas, great beings, who have perfectly accumulated a vast collection of virtuous roots and entered the great vehicle, after reaching the ocean of Bodhisattva conduct, in an instant, the spontaneously accomplished wisdom, no matter how thoroughly it overwhelms the all-knowing wisdom, is something that past intentional actions could not thoroughly overwhelm even in hundreds of thousands of eons, so it is said. Regarding the two verses made based on distinguishing individuals from the nature of the ground, it refers to what is called "nature" from the first ground up to the tenth ground. In those grounds, the name of the individual dwelling on this ground is called this, and the name of the individual dwelling on this ground is called that, thus distinguishing and showing them, which is called distinguishing individuals from the nature of the ground. Its meaning is shown by two verses. Regarding "pure view," it refers to the Bodhisattva abiding on the first ground, whose name is called the individual with pure view. Why? Because at the time of attaining the first ground, one becomes the antidote to the view of self in individuals and the view of self in phenomena, realizes the wisdom of selflessness of individuals and phenomena, and obtains non-conceptual wisdom, therefore one is called the individual with pure view. Therefore, it is said in the sutras that even from the first ground onwards, one distinguishes and discerns extremely with the power of mind and the power of intelligence, and it is said that one realizes them simultaneously. Regarding "extremely pure morality," it refers to the Bodhisattva abiding on the second ground, whose name is called the individual with extremely pure morality. Because the Bodhisattvas abiding on the second ground do not experience great downfalls, and similarly, they do not experience even subtle errors of downfall. Therefore, they are established as individuals with pure morality. Therefore, even from the second ground onwards, when returning from killing,

Therefore, returning from cutting off life means starting from abandoning weapons, and not harming sentient beings even with mere thoughts. What need is there to mention causing great harm to other sentient beings by considering them as sentient beings, intentionally thinking about them, and harming them in a bodily manner? Thus it is said. In the case of not taking what is given, it is also because one is content with one's own possessions, so one is not careless about the possessions of others. Even grass and leaves are not taken without being given, what need is there to mention other means of livelihood? Thus it is said. In the case of sexual misconduct, it is also because one is content with one's own wife, so one does not desire other wives. Even attachment does not arise towards women who are completely possessed by others, other wives, those protected by lineage, name, and dharma, what need is there to mention sexual intercourse? Thus and so on it is said. Those called "Equanimity" are bodhisattvas abiding on the third ground, and are called "Equanimous Bodhisattvas". No matter where they are born, after death and rebirth, their meditation and samadhi will not decline, therefore they are called equanimous beings. Therefore, starting from the third ground, with such diligence, they completely seek the Dharma, and after hearing those Dharmas, they ascertain and realize them in their own minds, and go to a solitary place, and contemplate in this way. By practicing the Dharma that is in accordance with the Dharma, they think that it is not enough to have only the complete purification of verbal actions in order to understand these Buddha Dharmas. Therefore, the cause of practicing the Dharma that is in accordance with the Dharma is to be separated from desires, separated from sinful and unwholesome Dharmas, and so on, it is extensively taught. Those called "Abandoning Pride in the Dharma" are bodhisattvas abiding on the fourth ground, and are called "Those who have abandoned pride in the Dharma". Thus, in the third ground, they highly regard the Dharma and have great respect for the Dharma, and whatever joy they have in practicing the Dharma, in the fourth ground, their minds also turn away from that. In the third ground, they highly regard the Dharma and have great joy in practicing the Dharma, and also because from the third ground itself they possess such extremely discerning wisdom, therefore they are even more excellent.
