It should be practiced in this way. The so-called signless refers to nirvana. Samsara is accompanied by suffering such as birth and aging, so one should focus on the nature of non-peace. Nirvana has abandoned all suffering, so one should focus on the nature of peace. Samsara is to be abandoned, and nirvana is to be realized. Among them, the wisdom that focuses on Suchness is the wisdom that observes the nature of all dharmas as the nature of nirvana, that is, the wisdom that observes emptiness. Bodhisattvas see that samsara and the wisdom that focuses on Suchness, that is, nirvana, are not different and are of one taste, and they practice that the emptiness of samsara is nirvana. By practicing in this way, one surpasses the shravakas' practice of signlessness. Therefore, in the "Arya Inexhaustible Intelligence Sutra," it is also said that the realm of dharma, the realm of samsara, and the realm of nirvana are the same. The realm of dharma, the realm of sentient beings, and the realm of all dharmas are the same. Why are they the same? Because they are the same in emptiness, so they are the same. And so on. If one practices that signs and Suchness are not different, how can one surpass the shravakas' practice of signlessness? "The meaning of existence and non-existence is manifest, arising from discrimination." It is said that if one practices that signs and Suchness are not different, then the meaning of existence is also manifest, and the meaning of non-existence is also manifest. In this way, whatever sentient beings think and however they think, they will be accomplished accordingly. Even if one thinks that a rain of resources will fall from the empty sky, a rain of resources will fall, so it is said that everything arises from discrimination. Therefore, the bodhisattva's practice of signlessness surpasses the shravaka's practice of signlessness. Among them, existence refers to the realm of dharma of the perfectly established nature. Since the realm of dharma is manifest, it is called the manifestation of existence. Among them, non-existence refers to the grasped and the grasper, the completely imputed

It is called a sign, because the non-existence of the completely imputed nature also manifestly appears, therefore it is called the manifest non-existence. It is called "because of seeing that signs and suchness are without difference," etc. A sign refers to the Dharma of Samsara. Suchness refers to the emptiness that is the characteristic of all Dharmas being naturally free from suffering. Because seeing that Samsara and Nirvana are of the same nature, it is called seeing that signs and suchness are without difference, meaning that Samsara and the emptiness of nature, which one is Nirvana? Nirvana is also not seen as existing apart from the emptiness of Samsara, but is seen in this. Therefore, the Bodhisattva's practice of non-sign is more excellent than the Shravaka's practice of non-sign. In order to show how it is more excellent. It is called "They see signs and non-signs as different, do not pay attention to all signs, and pay attention to the realm of non-signs," etc. The Shravakas see signs, namely Samsara, and non-signs, namely Nirvana, as different. How do they see them as different? Samsara has various kinds of suffering such as birth and aging, and is seen as a non-peaceful nature. Nirvana is the abandonment of suffering such as birth and aging, and is seen as a peaceful nature. Therefore, Samsara is what they want to abandon and pay attention to, and they want to realize Nirvana, so they pay attention to the realm of Nirvana. Bodhisattvas do not see signs other than suchness, so it is called seeing non-signs. Bodhisattvas do not see signs that do not realize the emptiness of suchness, that is, the Dharma of Samsara exists elsewhere. They see signs, namely Samsara itself, as the nature of emptiness. Because they see that Samsara and Nirvana have the same taste, they do not abandon Samsara, nor do they take Nirvana. Therefore, in order to practice that there is no difference between Samsara and Nirvana, the Shravaka practices non-sign and the Bodhisattva non-sign.

There are differences in meditation. As for "the meaning of being suchness," suchness is emptiness, and emptiness is the meaning of being clearly seen as existent. As for "manifested in the meaning of no characteristics," characteristics are the grasped and the grasper, etc. The characteristics of the grasped and grasper are the nature of non-existence, which is clearly seen. As for "because all meanings are accomplished as they are discriminated," the meaning of such non-existence is also manifested, and the meaning of existence is also manifested. Whatever is thought is accomplished as it is, therefore it is called obtaining accomplishment from discrimination. Question: If samsara is the nature of nirvana, and all sentient beings have nirvana, then all sentient beings should see nirvana. Why do they not see it? Therefore, it is said, "Abilities are truly obscured, and the untrue is completely manifested." Thus, samsara itself is the nature of nirvana, but ordinary beings are obscured by the obscuration of the habitual tendencies of attachment to the appearance of self and phenomena, so they do not see the dharma that exists in emptiness, while the untrue, non-existent dharmas of the grasped and grasper appear and are seen in the mind. For example, obscured by ignorance, one does not see the existence of the rope, but sees the snake that does not have the nature of a snake on the rope. As for "for the true Bodhisattva, after that is removed, everything is manifested," Bodhisattvas do not have attachment to the appearance of person and phenomena, so the dharma that exists in true emptiness appears and is seen in the mind, while the untrue, such as the grasped and grasper, are removed and do not appear in the mind. For example, a person who is free from drowsiness sees the existence of the rope but does not see the non-existence of the snake. As for "self-nature," for ordinary beings, without needing to fabricate, the non-existent dharmas such as the grasped and grasper appear in the mind. As for "the true nature of self-nature is manifested," for Bodhisattvas, emptiness is manifested.
