Regarding things, such as vases and so on. The name is the word called "vase." Giving the name "vase" to the thing "vase," this name itself is not the self-nature of the vase, but merely a designation and a separate establishment. To seek and understand in this way is called "the complete search for name." For name, things are accidental, which is called "the complete search for the accidental nature of things for name." For name, it is the word called "vase." The thing expressed by this word is the vase that can hold water. For the expressive name called "vase," the expressed thing called "vase" is established as accidental and designated. The self-nature of the two, name and thing, is not the same. To seek in this way is called "the complete search for thing." Regarding the two that are manifestly related and established as self-nature and difference, the two that are manifestly related are the expressive name and the expressed thing. From the relationship between the two, the self-characteristic of qualities such as hardness is established as self-nature, and the common characteristic of birth and destruction is established as difference. Both are merely established. Understanding that the self-characteristic is not established by self-nature is called "the complete search for self-nature." Understanding that the common characteristic is also merely established and does not have self-nature is called "the complete search for difference." The explanation of the seventh chapter of the Ornament for Clear Realization is complete. In the section called "Ten Verses on the Discrimination of Perfect Knowledge of Reality," it says that if name and thing, as well as self-nature and difference, are completely sought in the stage of faith practice, then in the first ground, name and thing, as well as self-nature and difference, will be perfectly known as the nature of emptiness. Therefore, perfect knowledge of reality is shown by ten verses. "Because all are without objects of focus, perfect knowledge has four aspects," etc., with one verse, the nature and activity of the four perfect knowledges of reality are shown. Among them, the four perfect knowledges of reality are: the perfect knowledge of reality that possesses the complete search for name, and thing

Knowing exactly as it is with the complete search and possession, and knowing exactly as it is with the complete search and possession of self-nature, and completely knowing exactly as it is with the complete search and possession of distinctions. Among them, if one knows that all names are without substance and empty, it is called knowing exactly as it is with the complete search and possession of names. If one knows that all things, such as pots, are without self-nature and empty, it is called completely knowing exactly as it is with the complete search and possession of things. If one knows that all the self-natures of the earth, such as hardness, are without self-nature and empty, it is called knowing exactly as it is with the complete search and possession of self-nature. If one knows that all dharmas, such as arising and ceasing, are also without self-nature and empty, it is called knowing exactly as it is with the complete search and possession of distinctions. Thus, half a verse has shown the nature of knowing exactly as it is. For the sake of accomplishing the meaning of all teachings, It arises in all lands. In this sentence, from the first ground up to the tenth ground is called all grounds, that is, in order to accomplish the meaning of self and others by the Bodhisattvas in all ten grounds, the four kinds of true knowledge arise and are practiced in them. The latter half of the verse shows the great nature of the activity of true knowledge. Thus, in the first ground, the wisdom of knowing that all dharmas are without self is the means to liberate from all bonds, and by this, one is liberated from all bonds. In order to know what is bondage, and what is bound by it, it is said: Place and enjoyment, and the nature of seeds, Bound by the marks, etc. Among them, bondage is the mark of place, the mark of enjoyment, and the mark of seeds. Among them, the mark of place is the container world, since the mark and the object have the same meaning, the container world is the object to be focused on by the Alaya consciousness, therefore for the container world
