Able to liberate from (suffering). With five actions benefiting sentient beings, like a Bodhisattva is like a friend. Just as a friend benefits a friend in five ways, so too does a Bodhisattva benefit sentient beings in five ways, therefore Bodhisattvas become friends to all sentient beings. So, how does a friend benefit a friend in five ways? These five actions are: benefiting a friend, truly knowing happiness, increasing happiness and benefit, not being weary, not retreating, and always wishing for benefit and happiness. Liberated from afflictions, with my unerring wisdom. Just as a friend, how does one truly know what is beneficial and happy for a friend? Similarly, Bodhisattvas have no mistaken understanding of the aspects of afflictions and the aspects of purification, they do not cling to the aspect of afflictions as a pure dharma, nor do they cling to the pure dharma as an aspect of afflictions, they know afflictions as afflictions themselves, and they also know the pure dharma as the pure dharma itself. Among them, suffering and the origin of suffering are the aspects of afflictions, cessation and the path are the aspects of purification. Or, from the condition of ignorance there is action, and from the condition of birth there is old age and death, this is the aspect of afflictions. When ignorance ceases, action ceases, and when birth ceases, old age and death cease, these are the aspects of purification. All worldly perfections. Just as a friend immediately gives life and happiness to a friend, Bodhisattvas also establish sentient beings in the perfect happiness of the world such as Indra, Brahma, and Chakravartin, and give these as gifts, that is its meaning. Not only worldly giving. Just as a friend gives a friend benefits that will benefit life and existence at any time, so too do Bodhisattvas

Because sentient beings are placed in the perfection that transcends the world, that is, the Nirvana of the Great Vehicle, it is beneficial. Regarding worldly benefit and happiness: What is immediately beneficial to life and status is happiness. What is beneficial to life and status in the long run is benefit. The so-called "without weariness" is like friends who are not weary of doing benefit and happiness for friends, so too, Bodhisattvas have no weariness in placing sentient beings in the perfection of worldly happiness and the perfection of benefit that transcends the world. The so-called "non-retrogression" is like friends who do not regress even if they speak divisive words that would separate themselves from their friends, so too, Bodhisattvas, for the sake of sentient beings, practice various kinds of austerities, and when practicing the six perfections, they are not influenced by demons, etc., nor are they influenced by various sufferings such as cold and heat, and they do not regress from the practice of Bodhisattvas. The so-called "always желать счастья и пользы" is like a friend who hopes that friends will have happiness and beneficial Dharma at all times, and believes that they always think that way about sentient beings, so too, Bodhisattvas hope that sentient beings will have benefit and happiness at all times and will always be accompanied by those Dharmas. The so-called "worldly perfection is happiness" is like being placed in the worldly perfection of Indra and Brahma, etc., is happiness, because at that time, the world will experience the happiness of worldly enjoyment. The so-called "for the antidote to the disease of afflictions" and so on, placing in the Nirvana that transcends the world and its path is benefit, why? Just as taking medicine is beneficial for disease, so too, the Dharma that transcends the world can eliminate all diseases of afflictions, so it is called benefit. Five kinds of actions The prince of sentient beings is like a servant, just as a servant helps the master in five ways

Bodhisattvas also benefit sentient beings through five actions. Therefore, a Bodhisattva is like a servant to all sentient beings. What are the five actions by which a servant benefits his master? He is enthusiastic about his work; he is not deceitful, and he endures even when scolded and beaten; he is skilled in doing all that is desired; he is skilled in methods and knows how to please his master. To ripen sentient beings, he is always diligent. Just as a servant is enthusiastic about his master's work, without discouragement or laziness, and is diligent, so too, a Bodhisattva sometimes does and sometimes does not engage in complete giving, but not without doing so, but at all times he works for the benefit of sentient beings, without discouragement or laziness, and is full of diligence. Speaking truthfully, just as a servant has no lies or deception, and speaks truthfully to his master about what he has seen and heard, and is not deceitful, so too, Bodhisattvas accurately point out that suffering and its origin are on the side of affliction, and accurately point out that cessation and the path are on the side of purification, and accurately speak and point out the Dharma that arises from affliction, karma, and suffering, therefore they are like servants. Enduring those who do evil, just as a servant endures suffering and accepts being scolded and beaten by his master with harsh words, and does not abandon his master, so too, sentient beings inflict various harms on Bodhisattvas through body, speech, and mind, and even if they give benefits, they turn around and accept harm, and do not abandon sentient beings, therefore they are like servants. Giving two perfections, just as a servant is skilled in doing all that is desired, arranging and giving as the master needs, so too, Bodhisattvas give and enhance all sentient beings with worldly perfections and transcendental perfections, therefore they are like servants. Alternatively, giving two perfections is merit.
