Not only giving alms to certain people, but giving resources equally to friends, non-friends, the poor, and the non-poor, this is called having no partiality. Like this, one practices on the perfection of generosity. "Discipline is always undiminished," here there are two kinds of discipline, namely, guarding against natural transgressions and guarding against prohibitive transgressions. Among them, guarding against natural transgressions is guarding against committing the four root downfalls. Guarding against prohibitive transgressions is guarding against prohibitive precepts such as "not eating after noon," and precepts such as "not cutting grass," and so on. Regarding these, just as one guards against committing natural transgressions, one should not violate even the smallest prohibitive transgression. It is not that one guards sometimes and does not guard sometimes, but one must guard at all times, this is called discipline being always undiminished. Like this, one practices on the perfection of discipline. "Patience in all things," here it speaks of patience in all places, patience in all times, and patience with all sentient beings. Among them, it is not that "one should be patient in the east, but one should not be patient in the west," but one should be patient in all ten directions, this is called patience in all places. It is not that "one should be patient in the past, but one should not be patient in the future," but one should be patient in all three times of past, present, and future, this is called patience in all times. It is not that "one should be patient with spiritual friends and friends, but one should not be patient with enemies, etc.," nor is it that "one should be patient with the powerful and influential, but one should not be patient with the weak and lowly," but one should be patient with enemies as one is with friends, and one should be patient with the weak as one is patient with the powerful, this is called patience with all sentient beings. Like this, one practices on the perfection of patience. "Great diligence in all meanings," here it speaks of exerting diligence for the sake of accomplishing one's own benefit, and also for the sake of all sentient beings.

To strive for the sake of accomplishing benefit, just as striving to accomplish a single virtue, likewise striving to accomplish all virtues, and exerting great effort in all important matters is called great diligence. Such is the equal practice of the perfection of diligence. 'Always virtuous contemplation,' here there are three kinds of contemplation: contaminated, purified, and uncontaminated. Contemplation that is attached to the taste of the bliss of contemplation is called contaminated. Contemplation that is not attached to the taste of contemplation is called purified. Bodhisattvas do not abide in contaminated contemplation, but cultivate purified contemplation and uncontaminated contemplation. Moreover, it is not that they cultivate sometimes and do not cultivate sometimes, but they cultivate at all times, therefore it is called always virtuous contemplation. Such is the equal practice of the perfection of contemplation. 'Wisdom also does not discriminate,' meaning that wisdom, like the face of the sky, knows all dharmas, neither thinking that they exist, nor thinking that they do not exist, neither thinking that they are permanent, nor thinking that they are impermanent, this is called wisdom not discriminating. Such is the equal practice of the perfection of wisdom. 'The mind of a Bodhisattva should be known as equal in this way,' meaning that for those six perfections mentioned above, practicing as described earlier, it should be known that this is equality of mind in practicing the perfections. Thus, these two verses show that the mind is equal in practicing the six perfections for the benefit of sentient beings. Classifying the benefit, there are sixteen verses, meaning that for all sentient beings who have obtained the mind of equality, it is not only loving and compassionate to sentient beings with an equal mind, but also benefiting them without regard for body and life. In this way, benefiting them, classifying these benefits, it is shown with sixteen verses, of which two verses show the benefit of using the six perfections. Verse
