If one thinks that experiencing suffering is not extremely difficult, then it is said, "My body is equal to the number of sands in the Ganges River," which shows that it is not one body of mine that experiences suffering, but my bodies equal to the number of sands in the Ganges River that experience suffering, thus showing it is even more difficult. If even so, one thinks that practicing with a lifespan of about a hundred or a thousand years is not extremely difficult because the lifespan is short, then it is said, "A lifespan equal to the number of sands in the Ganges River," etc., which shows that the lifespan is also practiced in kalpas equal to the number of sands in the Ganges River, thus showing it is even more difficult to practice because the time is long. If even so, one thinks that practicing by filling a few worlds with fire is not extremely difficult, then it is said, "The three thousand great thousand worlds are completely filled with fire," which shows that filling with fire is not just filling a few worlds with fire, but all the three thousand great thousand worlds are filled with fire to practice.

Practicing continuously and without interruption from beginning to end, such is called the expansive thought of meditating from the perfection of discipline to the perfection of wisdom. Bodhisattvas, from meditating on the perfection of discipline to the perfection of wisdom, gather sentient beings, etc. It explains what the joyful thought of meditating from the perfection of discipline to the perfection of wisdom is like: Thus, bodhisattvas meditate on the perfection of discipline to the perfection of wisdom, they gather sentient beings, place sentient beings in those perfections, and thus benefit sentient beings. Seeing the benefit to sentient beings in this way, bodhisattvas generate a distinction of joy, sentient beings being placed in the perfection of discipline, etc., and benefiting them, they do not generate a distinction of joy merely from that, such a thought is called the joyful thought. Bodhisattvas, in order to demonstrate the unexcelled, perfect and complete enlightenment, etc. It explains the beneficial thought of meditating from the perfection of discipline to the perfection of wisdom. As mentioned above, from explaining discipline to explaining wisdom, if they benefit sentient beings, bodhisattvas do not think, "I have benefited sentient beings," but need to think like a bodhisattva treats subordinates, thinking that discipline, etc., has benefited which sentient beings, and those sentient beings have benefited me. Why? Because these sentient beings, according to my teachings, practice discipline, etc., therefore I will accumulate the resources to attain unexcelled enlightenment, therefore thinking that those sentient beings have benefited me is called the beneficial thought. Bodhisattvas, the discipline of merit, etc., explain the non-attachment thought of meditating from the perfection of discipline to the perfection of wisdom, thus as a source of the accumulation of merit

From meditating on the Transformed Discipline Paramita, to meditating on the Wisdom Paramita, which becomes the cause of the accumulation of wisdom, as mentioned above, extensively practiced and benefiting sentient beings, but without expecting any reward for the benefits bestowed in this life, nor expecting those fruits to ripen in future lives in heavens and so on, such a thought is called a non-attachment thought. Among them, the Bodhisattva is like this, such as the accumulation of merit, etc. The Bodhisattva, from meditating on discipline to meditating on wisdom, has a virtuous thought, that is: the accumulation of merit and wisdom that I have cultivated also becomes the basis for cultivating discipline, and such extensive cultivation between meditating on discipline and meditating on wisdom, may the result of that be obtained by me alone, not praying like this, but dedicating it to be shared with all sentient beings. From the accumulation of discipline mentioned above, to the cultivation of the Wisdom Paramita, by the cause of this cultivation, may I and all sentient beings become the cause and condition for attaining the unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment. Praying like this is called a virtuous thought. There are three types of Paramita meditation that abides in means, that is: there are also three types of six Paramita meditations that abide in means, that is: the giver, the object, and the receiver are unobtainable. In order to show that meaning, it is said: with non-discriminating wisdom, in order to separately purify the three wheels. That is: for the giver, the object, and the receiver, there is no discrimination in the existence of the three, with non-discriminating wisdom, for the giver, the object, and the receiver, the existence of the three is separately distinguished, which is called the Paramita that abides in means. So, why is it called means? Therefore, it is said: such means is for accomplishing all mental activities. With the characteristic of the purity of the three wheels being unobtainable, all the mental activities and all the Buddha's teachings mentioned above can be accomplished and purified, therefore it is called means.
