If it is said that "it is not possible in any place," then, if consciousness is not momentary, and the senses are not momentary, if they are permanent, then the senses cannot be the place and basis of consciousness. If it is said that "change, maturation, arising, and abiding are impossible," then, due to the influence of desire and hatred, the body's color changes to other variations, and the maturation arising from the state of being a child to the state of being a mature person, etc., is also not momentary. For things that are permanent and abiding, such changes are impossible. To show how it is impossible, it is said, "From the beginning, it is destroyed and does not change." Permanent things neither destroy nor change their initial nature, nor do they take on a different form from before, because they abide in a single nature and do not change into many forms. Therefore, for permanent things, due to the influence of desire, etc., my body and face, etc., cannot change into others, nor can they mature from childhood to adulthood, etc. To show that meaning in detail, it is said, "Those who abide in this way will not change due to desire, etc., nor will they mature into other states." For those who abide in the permanent state, due to the arising of desire, other colors, unlike the previous ones, such as smiles, etc., will not change later, nor will they mature from childhood, etc., into the state of adulthood, etc., with the body becoming large. To show how it does not change, it is said, "If it does not perish in the beginning, there will be no change in the end." For the arising of change, when the mind of desire arises, if the color, etc., of the mind that has not arisen in the beginning has not been destroyed, then at the time when the mind of desire arises, the color of the face, etc., will not change into the form of a smile, etc., and at the time when desire arises, the face of the time when desire has not arisen will appear. Even if there are many ripenings, if one is permanent, even if the form of a child changes to another, it cannot not be destroyed, then in adulthood, the body

If the great extent of the body, etc., does not change, then at all times it will only remain and appear as the nature of a child. But it is not so, when the mind of desire arises, the previous appearance and color disappear, and later a different appearance and color that is not the same as before will appear; when maturing, the size of the body, etc., of the child's time, etc., disappears, and later it will not be the same as before, but a different size of body such as adolescence will arise. Therefore, it is formed in an instant. Thus, first, with the reason of not being destroyed and not changing, it is proved that the arising of change and maturation are both instantaneous. Again, in order to prove that the highest and lowest arising are instantaneous with the reason that it is initially not destroyed and ultimately does not change, it is said that, similarly, for the lowest and highest arising, it should also be understood as being instantaneous. Just as the arising of change and maturation is proved to be instantaneous with the reason that it is initially not destroyed and does not change, so too, for the lowest and highest arising, it should also be understood as being produced instantaneously with the same reason that it is initially not destroyed and does not change. In order to show how it is proved to be instantaneous with the same reason, it is said: Just as with the arising of maturation, if the aggregates remain the same, then the karmic imprints will not be left behind. Just as the change from a child to adolescence, etc., if the initial childhood does not perish, and if it does not become other in adolescence, then it will always only appear as a child, and will never appear as the characteristics of adolescence, etc. Similarly, if the aggregates remain the same and are permanent, then having previously performed virtuous deeds in the realms of gods and humans, etc., after the virtuous deeds cease, due to the imprints of having committed non-virtuous deeds, later one will not experience the suffering results in the three lower realms, but will also possess the nature of suffering in the realms of gods and humans. And, having previously been in the nature of suffering in the three lower realms, due to the imprints of having performed virtuous deeds, after the suffering previously experienced ceases, later one will not experience happiness.
