Those who are pure in the ten grounds abide in the five skillful means, and are superior by abiding, so they are called unequaled. By what skillful means do they abide, and accomplish all purposes? Answer: When Bodhisattvas abide in the five skillful means, they accomplish both their own benefit and the benefit of others, which is the activity of skillful means. Regarding the classification of Dharani, there are three verses, that is, what is the connection between explaining the topic of Dharani after skillful means? Because the Bodhisattva of Dharani can obtain all aspects of Bodhi, and with the power of Dharani, they can completely remember the meaning and words spoken by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and the Dharma and meanings that have not been heard before can also appear in their minds. Therefore, if one has skillful means, in order to obtain the Dharani that holds Dharma, Dharani, and meaning, Dharani is explained after skillful means. Or, because skillful means and Dharani, etc., belong to the Dharma within the aspects of Bodhi, because its meaning cannot be left unsaid, it is explained. Or, this treatise explains the meaning of the Sutra Pitaka, and in the Mahayana Sutra Pitaka, skillful means, Dharani, and aspirations appear, and because their meaning must be explained, the meaning of Dharani is explained. The so-called "resultant, hearing, habituation, and Samadhi Dharani," etc., refers to the classification and function of Dharani. Although the nature of Dharani is not explained here, the nature of Dharani is the nature of mindfulness and wisdom, and those with special mindfulness and wisdom are called Dharani. Among them, there are three types of Dharani, namely, the resultant Dharani, the Dharani born from hearing and habituation, and the Dharani of Samadhi. Among them, in other lifetimes, asking about the true Dharma, making offerings, upholding, and reciting, etc., accumulate the roots of virtue that can obtain Dharani. Wherever one is born, they can manifest such aggregates. Because the aggregates are accomplished, therefore, regarding the meaning and words spoken by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, they can remember everything by saying it only once. This is called the resultant Dharani. Therefore, in the "Arya Manjushri Bodhisattva's Inexhaustible Wisdom Sutra" also

So, what is the inexhaustible dharani? The so-called dharani refers to the ability to remember the eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma by relying on the accumulation of virtuous roots through mindfulness, as well as the ability to maintain, not forget, and remember everything. This is called dharani. In this life, by relying on many virtuous friends and listening to many teachings many times, one can completely remember all the meanings and words of the Dharma spoken by Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, etc., as well as by Khenpos, Acharyas, etc. This is called the dharani arising from familiarity with listening. Relying on that dharani, the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence also says: 'Furthermore, dharani refers to remembering everything spoken by the Buddha Bhagavan, as well as everything spoken and well-spoken by all Bodhisattvas, all Pratyekabuddhas, all Shravakas, and all sentient beings, without exception. This is called dharani.' Anyone who cultivates any of the samadhis such as emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, etc., and brings it to manifestation, thereby being able to remember the meanings and words spoken by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas at once, this is called the samadhi dharani. 'The small and the great,' refers to, among the three dharanis mentioned above, the dharani arising from maturation and the dharani arising from familiarity with listening are called the small. The samadhi dharani is called the great. 'The great also has three types' refers to, in the dharani of samadhi being described as great, that great one can also be divided into three types: the small, the medium, and the great. 'The unentered, the entered, the steadfast, the small and the medium, the pure ground's ground.' refers to, those who have not entered the first ground, who practice with faith, and who obtain dharani from cultivating some samadhi, are called the small, because the small has not yet manifested the Dharmadhatu. For the Bodhisattvas who have entered the ground, their dharani, from the first ground up to the seventh ground, the dharani accomplished by impure samadhi, is called the medium, because that ground
