Attaining the teachings is the Bodhisattva. Power refers to the six superknowledges of those Bodhisattvas. Unobstructed means that these superknowledges enter all realms of the world and appear at all times, hence they are unobstructed. This even surpasses the superknowledges of the Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and worldly sages. Why is that? Because their superknowledges cannot enter all realms of the world and do not appear at all times, hence they are obstructed. "Entering all realms of the world" means that the superknowledges of the Bodhisattvas enter all realms of the world in the ten directions. "These six meanings have complete distinctions" means that for these six superknowledges, Bodhisattvas can manifestly transform one into many, hence Bodhisattvas are unobstructed. "This is what Bodhisattvas gather with superknowledge" means that these six superknowledges are called the power of Bodhisattvas, that is, realizing these six superknowledges themselves is called Bodhisattva. "The meaning of the nature of the characteristics of power being distinguished is spoken" means that the nature of the power of Bodhisattvas is shown through the gateway of distinguishing the characteristics of the power of Bodhisattvas in six ways. "Composed verses based on the meaning of the cause" means that after explaining the characteristics and distinctions of the six superknowledges, verses are composed to show the cause by which the six superknowledges can be attained, that is, the three causes: abiding in the fourth dhyana, abiding in non-conceptual wisdom, and appropriate attention. "Having obtained the extremely pure fourth dhyana" refers to the fourth dhyana of the form realm, that is, the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, and the fourth dhyana. Extremely pure means not excessively cultivating desire, not excessively cultivating pride, and not excessively cultivating doubt. Or, not surpassing, not cultivating according to the method, not according to the method.

Obtaining without cultivation is called purity. Or, abandoning the eight faults is purity. What are the eight faults? They are inhaling, arising, thinking, examining, pleasure, suffering, mental happiness, and unhappiness. 'After obtaining' means relying on the pure abode of the fourth dhyana. 'Completely grasping non-discriminating wisdom' means that when abiding in the fourth dhyana, one is associated with the non-discriminating wisdom that does not discriminate between the grasped and the grasper, and is also completely grasped by it. 'Dwelling while applying the mind as it should be' means, what should one apply the mind to at that time? The causes by which one can obtain which superknowledges are explained in the sutras. By applying the mind as it should be, one will obtain superknowledge. The cause for this is also stated in the sutras: if one desires to obtain the superknowledge of the divine eye, one should believe that all directions are pervaded by light and apply the mind to it. This is what was said. If one desires to obtain the superknowledge of magical powers, one should believe that the body is light and apply the mind to it, as was said. 'The power is accomplished, the excellent one will be obtained', among them, the six superknowledges of the Bodhisattva are superior to the superknowledges of the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and worldly beings, so they are called excellent. Abiding in the fourth dhyana, without possessing non-discriminating wisdom, how can one obtain and accomplish the six powers by applying the mind as it should be? This is the meaning. 'Composing verses based on the meaning of the fruit' means that after explaining the causes of the six superknowledges, verses are composed to show the fruits of the six superknowledges. There are also three kinds of fruits of the six superknowledges: the unparalleled and vast conduct is extremely abiding, making offerings to the Buddhas, and guiding sentient beings. 'Whoever, with the noble, the magical, and the Brahma's, unparalleled great conduct, extremely abides', this verse shows abiding with unparalleled great conduct. Among them, the abiding of the noble ones is abiding in the four truths of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, or with the ground and the other shore.
