Not considering oneself great. The so-called absence of pride means that after making sentient beings happy with the miracles of magical powers, they are led to take refuge and are made to uphold the precepts. Even towards these people, thinking, "These are the ones I have tamed, they are my disciples," there is no pride in thinking this way. The so-called wise and virtuous are those who are skilled in the self and common characteristics of the three vehicles, eliminating the ignorance of sentient beings who do not understand, eliminating the wrong understanding of those who have wrong understanding, and cutting off the doubts of those who are in doubt, hence they are called wise. The so-called patient are bodhisattvas who, in order to settle sentient beings in the ten bhumis and ten paramitas, endure cold and heat, etc., for the benefit of sentient beings, without weariness, hence they are called patient. The so-called tamed means that the body is tamed, speech is tamed, and mind is tamed, hence it is called tamed. If oneself is tamed in this way, other sentient beings can also be tamed by the bodhisattva. Why? Because the sutras also say that if oneself is not liberated, one cannot liberate sentient beings; if oneself is not peaceful, one cannot make sentient beings peaceful; if oneself is not tamed, one cannot tame other sentient beings. Up to this point, it has been shown how bodhisattvas benefit sentient beings who are settled on the bhumis. So-called "extremely long gone" shows that bodhisattvas who are settled on the bhumis also benefit sentient beings by causing others to be settled on the bhumis. From obtaining the first bhumi to the eleven bhumis below the Buddha, it is called long gone. Why? Because these bhumis cannot be entered by shravakas, pratyekabuddhas, and ordinary beings. Among them, in the beginning, the bodhisattva is called born into the Tathagata lineage. Having obtained this bhumi, one can benefit other sentient beings to obtain the first bhumi and cause them to be born into the Tathagata lineage. In the eighth bhumi, it is called obtaining the prophecy. Because one has obtained non-conceptual spontaneous accomplishment, if oneself abides in this, one can also cause other sentient beings to abide in this. In the tenth bhumi, it is called obtaining the empowerment of the crown prince. If oneself abides in this, sentient beings

And also be able to abide and attain. At the time of becoming a Buddha, one abides in the four wisdoms. Having attained it myself, I can also place other sentient beings in it. As for "inexhaustible," the practice of a Bodhisattva is inexhaustible. Why? Because there are four kinds of inexhaustibility. The four are: because the sentient beings to be liberated by the mind of enlightenment are inexhaustible, the mind of enlightenment generated for the sake of sentient beings is inexhaustible; because the mind of enlightenment is inexhaustible, the intention is inexhaustible; because the intention is inexhaustible, the compassion arising from the intention is inexhaustible; because compassion is inexhaustible, skillful means and wisdom are also inexhaustible, therefore it is called inexhaustible. As for "the practice of the sons of the Buddhas is supreme," as mentioned above, Bodhisattvas perform the benefit of sentient beings, therefore the practice of Bodhisattvas is supreme, most excellent, and without error. As for "making joyful without arrogance," Bodhisattvas generate faith in sentient beings through miraculous displays and make them joyful, but they have no arrogance, no arising of pride. As for "entering without pride," after generating faith in sentient beings through miraculous displays, they give refuge and lead them into the Dharma. They do not think, "I performed miracles," and they do not have the pride of thinking, "These people have entered my teachings, they are my disciples." As for "the wise will surely be determined in meaning," the wise who are proficient in the self and common characteristics of the three vehicles can also truly understand themselves, and can also cut off the incomprehension, wrong understanding, and doubts of other sentient beings, therefore it is called being determined in meaning. As for "patience is the practice of fully maturing virtue," placing sentient beings in the ten perfections and the virtue of the ten grounds, not being weary of suffering such as cold and heat for the sake of maturing them, is the meaning of patience. As for "taming is the practice of admonishment, etc.," taming one's own body, speech, and mind
