will be accepted. Therefore, the root is compassion. What are the four thoughts of Bodhicitta? Therefore, it is said, "Always think of benefiting sentient beings." It means that until the end of samsara, helping all sentient beings with various kinds of material benefits, preventing them from doing evil in this life, abiding in virtue, and placing them in Nirvana in the next life, thinking like this is the thought of those Bodhicittas. What do those Bodhicittas believe in? Therefore, it is said, "Believe in the Dharma." It means that those four Bodhicittas do not believe in the Dharma of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, but believe in the profound and vast Mahayana Dharma, which is the belief of those Bodhicittas. What do those Bodhicittas aim at? Therefore, it is said, "Aim at seeking wisdom, that's how it is." It means that that wisdom is the wisdom of Mahayana, which refers to non-discriminating wisdom. In order to obtain non-discriminating wisdom, seeking the Mahayana Dharma through listening, thinking, meditation, etc., is called the goal of Bodhicitta. What is the vehicle of those Bodhicittas? Therefore, it is said, "Desiring higher is the vehicle." It means that from the stage of abiding in the stage of faith, desiring how to obtain it first, obtaining the tenth stage, and how to obtain the Buddha stage, this is the vehicle of those Bodhicittas, because this desire makes the stage rise higher and higher. What is the support of those Bodhicittas? Therefore, it is said, "The vast precepts are its support." It means that the precepts of Bodhisattvas, the precepts of precepts, the precepts of benefiting sentient beings, and the precepts of accumulating virtues are the support of those Bodhicittas, that is what it means. What are the obstacles to those Bodhicittas? Therefore, it is said, "Preventing the arising of discordant aspects." It means that Bodhicitta is thinking of benefiting oneself and others. What is discordant with this mind is the mind of thinking of entering Nirvana only by oneself, that is, Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas.

One should examine the mind of the ground. If one cultivates and does not abandon the mind of the Lesser Vehicle, the mind of enlightenment will not arise, and this is an obstacle. This is its meaning. What is the nature of these minds of enlightenment? Therefore, it is said, "The nature of merit and wisdom." The mind of enlightenment has two aspects: the nature of compassion and the nature of wisdom. Among them, the nature of compassion is the thought that all sentient beings can be liberated from suffering, and this is the nature of merit. The nature of wisdom is the thought that all phenomena are empty, so no sentient being can be liberated from suffering, and this is the nature of wisdom. What are the benefits of these minds of enlightenment? Therefore, it is said, "The increase of virtue is the benefit." From the moment one generates the mind of enlightenment, as vast as the realm of space, as vast as the realm of sentient beings, and as vast as the world, so much merit will increase. This is the benefit of the mind of enlightenment. This is its meaning. How do these minds of enlightenment escape from samsara? Therefore, it is said, "Always combine with the perfections, that is the declaration of liberation." In order to escape from the three realms and attain unsurpassed enlightenment, if one practices and combines with the six perfections, one will be liberated from samsara, therefore it is said that the method of liberation is the six perfections. This is its meaning. What is the ultimate of these minds of enlightenment? Therefore, it is said, "Each with its own combination, that is the ultimate of the ground." The complete attainment from each of the ten grounds is called the ultimate of the ground. In this way, to reach the ultimate of the ground, one must also combine the first ground with the perfection of giving. When the perfection of giving is complete, it is called the ultimate of the first ground. From the tenth ground, combine with the perfection of wisdom. When the perfection of wisdom is complete, it is called the ultimate of the tenth ground. One should understand the generation of the mind of a Bodhisattva without any doubt. For the eleven questions that were asked, the answers were given accordingly, and that is the mind of enlightenment.
