It means generating the mind of enlightenment by focusing on this. The above briefly explains that the mind of enlightenment has three qualities and focuses on two meanings. The three qualities are: the quality of making a person grow, the quality of accomplishing things, and the quality of completely obtaining the fruit. The two meanings are: focusing on the meaning of enlightenment and focusing on the meaning of sentient beings. Among them, the two sentences "great joy and great action" indicate the quality of making a person grow. First, when generating the mind of enlightenment, one must also generate the power of the mind fiercely, and later, when practicing, one must also practice all ascetic practices in the same way. "Great meaning" indicates the quality of great meaning, because it can accomplish the benefit of oneself and others. "Great attainment" indicates the quality of completely obtaining the fruit, because one can ultimately obtain unsurpassed enlightenment. "Two meanings" indicates focusing on two meanings, because it focuses on the benefit of enlightenment and sentient beings. In the "Verses on the Classification of the Mind of Enlightenment", starting from the definition of the mind of enlightenment, it explains the classifications that the mind of enlightenment has. In order to show that the mind of enlightenment has four classifications, namely, the mind of faith and understanding, the mind of pure intention, the mind of fruition, and the mind of abandoning obstacles, the verses are composed. In the sentence "That mind generation is faith and understanding", the mind of enlightenment generated in the warm position, the peak position, the forbearance position, and the supreme worldly dharma position of the faith and practice ground is not the mind of enlightenment generated after realizing the profound and vast Mahayana Dharma, but the mind of enlightenment generated first through the gate of the profound and vast Mahayana Dharma, so it is called the mind of faith and understanding. In the sentence "Pure intention is different", the word "different" refers to the lands above the first ground and below the seventh ground. The mind generation of these seven grounds is called the mind of pure intention. Why? Because whatever is me is also others; whatever is others is also me, thus treating others equally.

Because of obtaining your mind, in order to obtain the perfect benefit of oneself and others, it is called superior intention. In order to be free from the defilements of the grasped and the grasper, it is called pure. The so-called "desire for the ripening ground" refers to the generation of Bodhicitta on the eighth, ninth, and tenth grounds, which is called the ripening Bodhicitta. Why? Because on these grounds, the spontaneously accomplished non-conceptual wisdom is obtained, and also for the perfections such as generosity, they are practiced spontaneously without effort. Therefore, it is called the generation of the ripening mind. Similarly, the so-called "abandoning obscurations" refers to the Buddha generating the Bodhicitta of the nature of cessation and non-arising at the time of Universal Light, which is called the generation of the unobstructed mind. Why? Because at that time, that Bodhicitta is the nature of abandoning all defilements of afflictive obscurations and cognitive obscurations. Therefore, in the Sutra of the Peak of Gaya, it is also said: "Son of the gods, moreover, the first generation of mind arises truly from the cause. The second generation of mind arises truly from wisdom. The third generation of mind arises truly from renunciation. The fourth generation of mind arises truly from the fruit." The so-called "Categorization of Bodhicitta, Doubtless Verses" refers to dividing Bodhicitta into four types, asking what the root of these similar things is, what the intention is, etc., eleven questions, and answering them in the same way, which is called doubtless. From this, the verses are taught. "Its root is desired to be compassion," refers to asking what the root of the four types of Bodhicitta is, and answering that the root of the four types of Bodhicitta is compassion, because compassion thinks of eliminating the suffering of sentient beings, thereby gathering all sentient beings and abiding. If compassion is not the root, then Bodhicitta will not be generated for the benefit of sentient beings, just like the Shravakas entering into Nirvana.
