It means to endure and be patient, that is, to experience and endure the suffering arising from benefiting sentient beings for as long as samsara exists. Among them, regarding "whatever sentient beings the Bodhisattva rejoices in" and so on, for example, the loving-kindness towards a calf, and the giving of benefit without weariness, similarly, the Bodhisattva rejoices in sentient beings, desires to benefit, and in the manner of striving for their benefit, like these three situations, when engaging in the benefit of sentient beings, even if sentient beings cause harm, they will not be weary, the activities of the Bodhisattva mentioned above are extremely rare and wonderful in the world, that is its meaning. Among them, the loving mind that does not want to be separated from sentient beings is called joy. Eliminating the discomfort of sentient beings is called desiring to benefit. Causing sentient beings to practice generosity and other perfections is called giving benefit. It is not considered amazing because sentient beings and oneself are the same, that is the meaning. Although it is like that, it is still considered amazing, how so? For example, oneself benefiting oneself, oneself doing things for oneself is not considered amazing, similarly, the Bodhisattva who has attained the first ground also attains the mind of equality between oneself and sentient beings, because he understands that all sentient beings are oneself, so what is so amazing about benefiting sentient beings? It is like oneself benefiting oneself not being considered amazing, that is the meaning. Having explained the path of seeing in this way, now the path of meditation is explained, therefore from then on reaching the remaining grounds, therefore through these two wisdoms, one enters for the sake of meditation. Having said this and so on, from then on means, after obtaining the path of the first ground, after that. The remaining grounds refer to from the second ground upwards to the tenth ground downwards, those nine grounds are called the path of meditation. In those paths of meditation, the Bodhisattva, in order to abandon the obscurations of afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge that are to be abandoned through meditation, diligently engages in meditation, at that time what does he meditate on? He meditates on the two wisdoms that arise from then on. What are those two wisdoms?
