It is said like this. The five fears are: the fear of not having a livelihood, the fear of not having sections, the fear of retinues, the fear of being born in the lower realms, and the fear of death, which are transcended. However, the Bodhisattva must eliminate the suffering of limitless sentient beings, because until the suffering of sentient beings is eliminated, due to the power of compassion, sentient beings suffer, and I also suffer, so it is called extreme suffering. Just as one benefits oneself, one accomplishes the benefit of all beings, without expecting anything in return. Regarding this, the Bodhisattva who has attained the first ground is also called the one who accomplishes benefit, and also called the one who does not accomplish benefit. How is one called the one who accomplishes benefit? Because one accomplishes the benefit and happiness of all sentient beings, one is called the one who accomplishes benefit. However, one is also called the one who does not accomplish benefit, how so? Just as one bestows benefit on oneself, without expecting anything in return, even if one bestows benefit on all sentient beings, one does not think that I have bestowed benefit on all sentient beings, that I have done well, and one does not expect anything in return for bestowing benefit, therefore one is also called the one who does not accomplish benefit. Therefore, in the "Vajracchedika Sutra," it is also said: "I lead all beings to Nirvana, to the realm of Nirvana without remainder, but though I lead beings to Nirvana, there is not a single being who is led to Nirvana." Like this, one should generate the mind. One's own mind is liberated by the supreme liberation, and is also bound by the long-lasting, firm bond. Regarding this, the Bodhisattva is also called liberated by the supreme liberation, and also called bound by the long-lasting bond. How is one called liberated by the supreme liberation? Because one has abandoned the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing the path, which are present in one's own continuum, one is called liberated by the supreme liberation. How is one called bound by the long-lasting bond? Because the Bodhisattva must cut the bonds of affliction that are present in the minds of limitless sentient beings, until the bonds of affliction of sentient beings are cut, the Bodhisattva will not manifest enlightenment, and even at the end of samsara, will still abide in samsara, so one is also called bound by the firm bond. Suffering.

Though the end of suffering is not seen, thus well entering, thus acting. Called: The Bodhisattva who has attained the first ground is also called the one who brings about the end of suffering, and also called the one who does not bring about the end. How is it called the one who brings about the end of suffering? Because he causes all the suffering existing in my continuum to be exhausted, therefore he is called the one who brings about the end of suffering. How is it called the one who does not bring about the end of suffering? Just as the sky has no end, so do sentient beings have no end. Just as sentient beings have no end, suffering is also not seen to have an end. No matter how one does it, one sees that the end of suffering will not be exhausted, therefore it is called the one who does not bring about the end. Thus, although the end of suffering has no end, the Bodhisattva does not abandon sentient beings, and it is not that he does not eliminate the suffering of sentient beings. In order to eliminate the suffering of sentient beings, he also enters into samsara in the same way, and for the sake of eliminating suffering, he also establishes sentient beings in the Dharma such as the Paramitas. He himself also practices the Dharma such as the Paramitas. One lifetime's own suffering, there is no power to endure. While the world exists, the suffering of others. What need is there to say, thinking of the collection. Called: One's own suffering and the collection are connected. Worldly people, for their own sake, practice their own suffering and have no power to endure. How can they practice and endure the immeasurable suffering of other sentient beings? It means that worldly people, for their own sake, do not have the power to practice enduring even the slightest suffering of their own body in one lifetime. How can they receive and endure the suffering of all sentient beings from the beginningless to the endless of samsara for the sake of sentient beings? It means that they do not think about this matter. The Bodhisattva is the opposite of this. Called: The Bodhisattva is the opposite of worldly people. He does not practice his own suffering for his own sake, but for the sake of sentient beings, he practices and endures the immeasurable suffering of sentient beings, and has the power to endure, until the end of samsara.
