If one thinks it is not the Buddha's word, one should not slander it as being the Buddha's word. If one thinks in this way, not properly applying the mind, if one slanders, then from showing that there are faults and shortcomings, the verses are shown. How does one fully investigate according to the sound? The meaning of this phrase is that the sound of 'Buddha does not exist, Dharma does not exist, Sangha does not exist' is not showing that everything, in every way, does not exist, but rather, considering that the nature of the thoroughly conceptualized does not exist, it is said that it does not exist. If one investigates according to the sound, grasping that everything, in every way, does not exist, one will obtain three kinds of faults. 'Self-conceited' means that because of grasping the literal meaning and not understanding the meaning, one abides in and is conceited about one's own view. If one abides in and becomes conceited about one's own view, one will not seek and listen to what the meaning of the word 'selflessness' is, which is being skilled in the meaning of the Great Vehicle. 'Intelligence diminishes' means that if one does not seek the meaning of the Great Vehicle in this way, and does not obtain from the wisdom that correctly knows the meaning of other-powered nature and perfectly established nature as existing, and the thoroughly conceptualized nature as non-existent, one will completely diminish. This is the first fault. 'Excellent speech is greatly disparaged, will be destroyed' means that grasping the literal meaning of 'does not exist', grasping that everything, in every way, does not exist, and disparaging the Bhagavan's teachings, which are good in the beginning and good in the middle, saying that they are spoken by demons and are not the Buddha's words, the accumulation of merit and wisdom diminishes, and a great mass of non-merit is accumulated, and beings must go to hell and be destroyed. This is the second fault. 'Anger obscures' means that if one thinks that the Dharma of the Great Vehicle is not the Buddha's teaching, and generates hatred, then the karmic obscuration of being impoverished by the Dharma will arise. This is the third fault. Among these, the karmic obscuration of being impoverished by the Dharma is that wherever one is born, one will be born as deaf, foolish, and mute, and will be born in remote places at the edge of the age, with bad friends, and so on.

It should be observed as taught in the Yogacarabhumi-sastra. If it is said that "one should not be angry at the unreal meaning," it means that words such as "there is no Buddha" should be understood as not referring to the absence of everything. If one does not know that there are other-powered and perfectly established things, and that there is no completely imputed, then one should not be angry with and slander the Mahayana because of this, and from this, verses are declared. "The anger of the mind is naturally violent": The anger of the mind is the hatred of the mind. Naturally violent means that nature itself is a fault. There are two kinds of faults: What are the two kinds? That is, natural fault and prohibited fault. Among them, natural fault is a heavy sin, and prohibited fault is a light sin. The hatred of the mind is a natural fault, which is the characteristic of natural violence. If it is said that "one should not be angry even at an unreasonable form," it means that since hatred is naturally violent, then one should not be angry even at an unreasonable form that is considered an enemy and is useless, let alone others? Why is this so? As stated in the Abhidharmasamuccaya, from the perspective of afflictions, how should the characteristics of afflictions be observed? That is, when a dharma arises, it cannot be calmed, and the characteristic of violence arises, and after it arises, it cannot calm and make the mind violent, which is the characteristic of affliction. Therefore, the hatred of the mind makes the mind violent, so one should not be angry at the unreasonable forms of enemies, etc. The Blessed One also repeatedly emphasized and prohibited anger in various sutras. In the Saptaśatikā-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra, it is said: "Manjushri, a moment of anger can burn the roots of virtue accumulated over many kalpas." In the Sravakapitaka-avadana-sutra, it is also said: "Monks, even towards burning coals, one should not generate a mind of anger.
