It is called accumulation. It is called good knowledge, for those who are skilled in the stage of faith and practice, and who have widely heard the great Mahayana Dharma, it is called good knowledge. It is called the mind being virtuous, for the time of the stage of faith and practice, from the beginning one should attain it, by abandoning the obscurations that obstruct it, hence it is called the mind being virtuous. Thus, having made the practice extremely pure, and the view upright, and having heard much, and having abandoned the obscurations, etc., then practicing in the manner of arising from below, hence diligence in practice is called diligence. The manner of arising from below is from the sutras and other dharmas. From the continuum of Dharma, from the Buddhas, for the sake of the complete increase of tranquility and the increase of wisdom, at that time, one will receive a prophecy. As it is said above, in the stage of faith and practice, faith and belief increase, and the accumulation of merit and wisdom is gathered, and the vows are completely purified, and the view towards the Mahayana is upright, and there is much hearing, and the obscurations are abandoned, that is, the Bodhisattva who has made body and mind capable, abiding in the Samadhi of the continuum of Dharma, from the Buddhas, for the sake of attaining the first ground, one will receive the teachings and instructions of the prophecy, that prophecy is also for the sake of the complete increase of tranquility and the complete increase of insight, and one receives the prophecy, the word wisdom refers to insight. The path to attaining the first ground, in the Samadhi of the supreme Dharma of the world, is called the Samadhi of the continuum of Dharma. From those sutras and other dharmas, from then on, it is called from then on, that is, from the Tathagata's teachings, and after obtaining from the instructions, the meaning of after that. The sutras and other dharmas, the word 'etc.' refers to the Sutra Pitaka and prophecies, etc., the twelve divisions of scripture. What are those scriptures like? For this reason, it is said: 'Two people clarify the meaning.' Those sutras and other dharmas are also separated from the two, the grasper and the grasped, and the meaning is separated from the two, existence and non-existence, and they explain the meaning without distortion, hence they are called clarifying.
