It is called "That," which indicates the path of meditation. In this way, for the Samadhi that is practiced with faith, supreme and sacred wisdom is also generated. In the path of seeing, the meaning of the Dharma, which has been transformed from the inverted notions of permanence, etc., to impermanence, etc., is also realized. In the path of meditation, even if one is afflicted by many ascetic practices, one will attain unsurpassed enlightenment in the realm of the Buddha, which is its meaning. In the chapter called "Discrimination of Euphemisms," the verses are composed to show that the Tathagata teaches the Dharma in euphemisms when teaching the Dharma to sentient beings, which is its meaning. Because there is no difference in the Dharmakaya, the "Euphemism of Equality" means that the Buddha Shakyamuni himself said in the assembly that at that time, he would become a perfectly enlightened Buddha with perfect insight, or "I am that." But that is not the Buddha Shakyamuni himself, but the Dharmakaya of the Tathagatas, which has no difference or distinction whatsoever. Considering the sameness of the Dharmakaya, he said, "I am that." The "Euphemism of Other Meanings" means that what is said, such as "all dharmas are without self-nature, unborn," etc., is not literal. The "Euphemism of Other Meanings" means that what is said in the Sutras, such as all dharmas are without self-nature, unborn, unceasing, and naturally in Nirvana, is not to be regarded as meaning that they are completely non-existent, but rather, considering the nature of imputation, it is said that all dharmas are without self-nature. Considering dependence, it is said to be unborn and unceasing. Considering perfect accomplishment, it is said that all dharmas are naturally in Nirvana. The "Euphemism of Other Times" means that for those lazy sentient beings who have no virtue at all, in order to generate a little root of virtue, considering other times, it is said that any sentient being who aspires to be born in the Pure Land of Bliss, the Buddha-field of the Tathagata Amitabha, will be born there. It does not mean that immediately after making the aspiration, one will be born there in this life, or in the next life.

It is not that it arises immediately, but it is said in consideration of the fact that such a prayer has been made, and that it will arise sometime due to this cause. The so-called subtle speech that conforms to the minds of beings is that for some, the root of virtue is praised, and they are satisfied with little achievement, while for others, it is disparaged. The Tathagata teaches the Dharma by adapting it to the capacities of sentient beings. For some people who have faith in great roots of virtue, the merits of generosity and other perfections are widely praised. For some people who are lazy in their conduct and are content with only small roots of virtue, the merits of generosity and other perfections are disparaged. Therefore, for those who deeply believe in the root of virtue, it will be widely praised; for those who like small roots of virtue, small roots of virtue will be praised. This is the subtle speech that conforms to the minds of beings. As it is known from the Mahayana sutras such as the Extensive Collection, when discussing the subtle speech of remedies above, what is said as the remedy for faults is the subtle speech of remedies. When it is mentioned that the Great Vehicle is also the subtle speech of remedies for the eight obscurations, if asked what is the Great Vehicle that remedies the eight obscurations? It is the citation of two verses with praise from the Mahayana sutra called the Extensive Collection. Among them, two verses reveal the eight obscurations, and three verses reveal the praise for them. In general, there are five verses. Namely, "Slandering the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, being lazy and delighting in small things, acting with pride and attachment, regretting and taking uncertainly." The so-called eight obscurations are: slandering the Buddha, slandering the Dharma, laziness and delighting in small things, the behavior of pride, the behavior of attachment, regret, and taking uncertainly. It is said that for these obscurations of sentient beings, the supreme Great Vehicle was taught. These eight are the obscurations of sentient beings. To remedy these obscurations, the Bhagavan taught the Great Vehicle.
