Why? Because from the one-pointed samadhi, the wisdom that knows the four truths as they are arises. The meaning of "There are two verses that distinguish the intention" is that in order to show that the Tathagata's intention and hidden meanings have inner and outer aspects, these two verses are composed. The meaning of "To introduce without frightening, therefore it is said that form etc. exist" is that if it is said that there is neither a person nor phenomena such as form, then the noble Shravakas will be afraid. If they are afraid, they will not enter the Tathagata's teachings. Therefore, in order to make the Shravakas not afraid and enter the teachings, and through the way of declaring the existence of phenomena, to make them realize the selflessness of persons, it is said that phenomena such as form exist, which is called the intention of following introduction. The three natures, such as the completely imputed, should be known, because all phenomena are shown as without self-nature and unborn, etc. The nature of the completely imputed, the nature of the dependent arising, and the perfectly established

As for the explanations of going to the other shore, the means to Bodhi, powers, and fearlessness, etc., those are spoken with the intention of the perfected nature. As for the antidote, it is to be understood for the sake of subduing faults. For example, the explanation of meditating on impurity is spoken for the sake of subduing the fault of desire; the explanation of meditating on loving-kindness is spoken with the intention of subduing the fault of hatred; the explanation of dependent origination is spoken with the intention of subduing the fault of ignorance. These are said to be with the intention of subduing faults. To explain that meaning, just as the supreme vehicles are taught as antidotes to the eight obscurations, this will be explained below. Next, two verses with praise will be explained. For example, just as the Great Vehicle is explained as an antidote to the eight obscurations, this is said to be with the intention of the antidote. The Great Vehicle is taught as an antidote to the eight obscurations, which will be explained later. That is, from the sutra called "The Great Vehicle, Extremely Extensive," two verses with praise will appear. Speaking of speaking with intention, it needs to be understood from profound words, that is, the words are profound, the words express one meaning, but in reality, they reveal another meaning, this is called speaking with intention. To explain that meaning, for example: "Clinging to self where there is no self, abiding greatly in what is inverted, Afflicted again by great affliction, one will attain supreme Bodhi." It is said like this. The direct meaning of that sentence is that the qualities of the five aggregates and the five desires are called self, and considering them to be supreme and primary is clinging to no self as self. Clinging to permanence, pleasure, purity, and self is abiding in what is inverted. Attachment, hatred, etc., are called afflictions, and constantly indulging in these afflictions, making the mind impure, is affliction again by affliction. If one does this, one will attain supreme Bodhi, that is, one will attain unsurpassed supreme Bodhi. That is its meaning. Understanding it this way, although this verse appears in this way, it is actually...

Thinking and explaining differently, what is meant by that? That means understanding it in this way. To perceive something meaningless as meaningful is to call the mind that is not distracted the main wisdom and the supreme wisdom. In Indian language, meaningless is called Asara. Sara means the mind is focused on the object, and being distracted outwards is called distraction. Asara means the mind is not distracted and stays in one point. For any Samadhi warmth, peak, and forbearance that are practiced with faith, and the supreme worldly Dharma, thinking that these are the causes for attaining the first ground, therefore they are supreme, sacred, and main, establishing the mind in this way is called perceiving the meaningless as meaningful. This shows the four grounds of practice with faith. Distraction means the arising mind, meaning that the mind arises outwards and enters objects such as form, which is called distraction. Abiding in the reversed is the reversal from permanence, happiness, purity, and self-grasping, abiding in impermanence and other reversals, because of not regressing. Reversing from permanence is impermanence. Reversing from happiness is suffering. Reversing from purity is impurity. Reversing from self-grasping is selflessness. Reversing from permanence and so on, realizing the meaning of impermanence and so on is called abiding in the reversed. In this way, the path of seeing of the first ground is realization, so this shows the path of seeing. Being called abiding means that after seeing impermanence and suffering in this way, one returns from the thought of permanence again, and there is no regression, so it is called abiding. Because after seeing impermanence and so on in the first ground, the mind that regresses from that does not arise. Being extremely afflicted by afflictions means practicing austerities for a long time, and being afflicted by diligence and effort. From the second ground to the tenth ground and below, on the path of cultivation, in order to abandon the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of cultivation, making oneself exhausted with effort and diligence, and various austerities, is being afflicted by afflictions.
