Because it is shown by other kinds of words and other words, it is called various. Because it does not contradict validity, it is called reason. That is to say, because when teaching the Dharma, it is taught without contradicting all of the direct perception, inference, and scripture, it is called reason. Because words and letters are famous, it is called making people understand. That is to say, if words and letters that are not famous in the world are spoken, people in the world will not understand. Therefore, when teaching the Dharma, if words and letters that are famous in the world are spoken, people in the world will understand. Therefore, when teaching the Dharma, because the words and letters that are famous in the world are shown, it is called making people understand. Because there is no impurity of not wanting faithful offerings, it is called without impurity. That is to say, a Bodhisattva teaching the Dharma does not think like this: I will teach the Dharma, and people in the world will generate joy and faith in me, and then offer me with gain and respect. They do not teach the Dharma thinking like this, but rather they have no hope for gain and respect, and teach the Dharma with a compassionate heart, this is called without impurity. Because it goes to the three vehicles, it is called going everywhere. That is to say, because it enters the Hearer, Solitary Buddha, and Great Vehicle, and teaches all three vehicles, it is called going everywhere. It is called verses with complete words and sentences, that is to say, after showing the complete explanation, now the complete words and sentences are shown. Among them, the meaning of words and sentences is to show things such as "conditioned phenomena are impermanent" or "all phenomena are without self," this is called words and sentences. The words and sentences of a Bodhisattva also have eight branches, so they are complete. In order to show this, verses are composed, this is its meaning. What are the eight branches? Therefore, it is said, "The fame of the Buddha's son's words, etc., not low, not high, gentle and beautiful speech, how reasonable and without impurity, thus appropriate and broad." Among them, the Victorious One is the Buddha Bhagavan. His sons are the Bodhisattvas born from the Dharmadhatu, the words and sentences of the Bodhisattvas have eight branches, this is its meaning. The eight branches are not inferior, gentle, and beautiful speech, etc.

I, fame and how It corresponds, and being without defilement, thus being suitable and vast. Furthermore, the eight qualities of speech as described in the Sutra Pitaka should be applied to it in sequence. How to apply them in sequence? It should be understood as it is applied in the commentary. The qualities mentioned in the Sutra Pitaka are: pervasive and good, clear and informative, pleasing to the ear and non-reliant, harmonious and inexhaustible. Because it is completely pervasive to the retinue, it is called "not inferior," which indicates that pervasive and not inferior are the same in meaning. How is it not inferior? The language of a Bodhisattva is not such that one member of the retinue hears it while another does not, but rather, however many members are gathered, all of them hear it, because it pervades the entire retinue, it is called not inferior. Gentle is good, which indicates that gentle and good are the same in meaning. Whatever language is pleasing to the ear and agreeable, that is called good. When a Bodhisattva teaches the Dharma, because the language is pleasing to the ear and agreeable, it is good, and because it is so good, it is called gentle. For the sake of clear and definite letters, it is called "beautifully spoken," which indicates that clear and beautifully spoken are the same in meaning. Because the language is clear, it is called beautifully spoken. How is it clear? For example, because there is obstruction, one experiences form, and because of experience, there is feeling. To show these letters, it is clear, therefore it is called beautifully spoken. To proclaim fame, because it is fame, it is informative, which indicates that fame and informative are the same in meaning. Because it shows words and letters known in the world, it is called informative. Why? Because if one speaks words not known in the world, people of the world cannot understand their meaning, but if one speaks words and letters known in the world, people of the world can understand their meaning, therefore, through fame, one can make it known. How does it correspond? Because it is in accordance with the Vinaya, it is called pleasing to the ear, which indicates that how it corresponds and pleasing to the ear are the same in meaning. For the beings to be tamed, proclaiming this Dharma is corresponding, for the beings to be tamed,
