Therefore, in reality, one does not cling to or desire to have self-nature, that is its meaning. Now, in order to conclude the search for the Dharma, and also to show the qualities of the Bodhisattva who abides in the search for the Dharma, the concluding verses are shown. The summarized meaning of that verse is also the nature of skillful means, great benefit to others, and great benefit to oneself. 'Virtuous intelligence, supreme diligence, attainment of wisdom,' this means that because one possesses the qualities of seeking the Dharma, the Bodhisattva who abides in seeking the Dharma is called virtuous intelligence. When seeking the Dharma, one abides in diligence without effort, exertion, discouragement, or disturbance, so one is called 'attainment of supreme diligence,' not a diligence done by force or strength, but rather the meaning of attaining diligence with skillful means. 'Possessing the two truths, seeing the nature of reality,' this means that, having attained supreme diligence in this way, one is called 'possessing the two truths,' that is, possessing the ultimate truth and possessing the conventional truth. Having the two truths in this way, one is called 'seeing the nature of reality,' that is, seeing the ultimate truth and seeing the conventional truth. Attaining supreme diligence and focusing on the conventional and ultimate truths shows the nature of skillful means. 'Therefore, becoming the protector of beings,' this means that because one has attained supreme diligence and focuses on the two truths, possessing wisdom, that Bodhisattva becomes the protector who liberates all sentient beings from suffering, which shows the great benefit to others. 'Qualities are perfected like the ocean,' this means that the Bodhisattva not only becomes the protector of beings, but also, just as the ocean is filled with water, the mind-stream of that Bodhisattva also grows and is perfected with the water of qualities such as strength and fearlessness, which is its meaning. This shows the great benefit to oneself. Commentary on the third chapter of the Ornament for the Sutras is completed. After searching for the Dharma, how is it related to the chapter on teaching the Dharma? What was learned before and how was it learned?

Teaching, and by whom the teaching is done, it is said to be the teaching of the Bodhisattva. From the perspective of how to teach, one should also teach with great interest in the Dharma, seeking the Dharma, and in the manner of expounding the Dharma. Thus, it is from the stage of application that one learns the distinctions in the manner of teaching. The distinctions in the manner of teaching also include distinctions in intention, distinctions in application, distinctions in benefiting oneself, and distinctions in benefiting others, and so on. Among these, the distinction in intention has already been explained in the context of generating great interest. The distinction in application and the distinction in benefiting oneself have also been explained in the context of seeking the Dharma. Now is the time to explain the distinction in benefiting others. Benefiting others also means that one benefits others by explaining how one seeks the Dharma without distortion to others. Therefore, After the occasion of seeking the Dharma, it is related to explaining the occasion of expounding the Dharma. Alternatively, a Bodhisattva seeks the Dharma not only to clarify his own mind-stream, but also to clarify the mind-streams of other sentient beings. Clarifying the Dharma is to clarify one's own mind-stream. Explaining the Dharma is to clarify the mind-streams of others. Therefore, after seeking the Dharma, it is related to explaining the occasion of expounding the Dharma. In expounding the Dharma, there is a verse on abandoning miserliness, which means that when a Bodhisattva expounds the Dharma, there is no occasion for miserliness to arise at all. To show this, the verse is composed. "Body and resources are obtained with difficulty." This means that the five aggregates, such as form, are the body. Grains and treasures, etc., are resources. The body is also obtained through suffering, so it is said to be obtained with difficulty. How is the body obtained through suffering? Like this, the body is obtained through hundreds of thousands of difficult virtuous roots. Therefore, the sutra also says that it is very difficult to obtain a human body, just as it is easy for a blind turtle living in the ocean to surface once every hundred years, with only one hole in its yoke, blown by the winds of the four directions into the ten directions, and its head to fit into that hole. How are resources difficult to obtain? For the sake of jewels and other wealth, going to the ocean, etc.
