Moreover, the cause of being free from diseases such as desire and hatred in the aggregates of form and consciousness is also Dharma. Why? Because listening to the Dharma of the twelve divisions of scripture, and thinking and meditating, etc., can pacify all the things to be abandoned by seeing and meditating, such as desire. The cause of obtaining great power is the five kinds of direct perception, such as the divine eye and ear. Why? Because possessing direct perception, all thoughts will be accomplished. The steadfast ones refer to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The cause of the thirty-two marks on their form bodies, and the absence of disease on the formless bodies, and the excellence and inexhaustibility of direct perception, etc., is Nirvana. Because even when Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are in complete Nirvana, these Dharmas will not be exhausted. The cause of the absence of disease in the formless body is to pacify the disease of afflictions. For formless Dharmas such as feeling, the cause of being free from diseases such as desire is also Dharma. Why? Because by listening to the Dharma of the twelve divisions of scripture, etc., the disease of afflictions existing in the mind will be pacified, that is its meaning. The cause of inexhaustibility is not fully explaining complete Nirvana. The cause of the marks on the form body, and the absence of disease on the formless body, and the powers and inexhaustibility is Nirvana. Why? Because even when Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are in complete Nirvana, these Dharmas will arise without interruption. Therefore, in the Brahma's Questions Sutra, it is said: "Possessing four Dharmas, one will be able to seek the Dharma of Bodhisattvas." The cause of the thirty-two marks on the form body, and the absence of disease in the formless Dharma is Dharma, the cause of powers is direct perception, and the cause of inexhaustibility is Nirvana, therefore the Dharma is also mentioned in the Brahma's Questions Sutra.

It is said that if one possesses four qualities, a Bodhisattva will seek four dharmas. These four dharmas are, for example, considering it as precious because it is rare, which will be explained below. As for "considering it as precious because it is rare," just as precious jewels are not always available and are very rare, similarly, this excellent Dharma is only heard occasionally, not always, so it is rare. Moreover, its result, the thirty-two marks, etc., are also only obtained occasionally, not always, so it is rare. Listening to the Dharma with such awareness is called "considering it as precious because it is rare." As for "considering it as medicine to pacify the disease of afflictions," just as medicine can pacify diseases, similarly, the excellent Dharma can also pacify the disease of afflictions such as desire, so thinking of it as pacifying the disease of afflictions is called "considering it as medicine to pacify the disease of afflictions." As for "considering it as wealth for fearlessness," in the world, the exhaustion of wealth leads to fear and unease. The excellent Dharma becomes the cause of inexhaustible wealth and enjoyment, such as clairvoyance. Therefore, considering the excellent Dharma as wealth to become the cause of fearlessness is called "considering it as wealth for fearlessness." As for "saying it is Nirvana to completely pacify all suffering," for example, Nirvana, because it has cut off all afflictions, all suffering such as birth and aging will be pacified. Similarly, if one listens to and contemplates the excellent Dharma, etc., it can also pacify all suffering such as birth and aging. Therefore, generating the mind of Nirvana towards the excellent Dharma, that is its meaning. Previously, in the root text of Acharya Sa, it explained the four aspects, such as the Dharma that accomplishes the marks on form being the cause, and in the Brahma's Questions Sutra, it explained the four aspects, such as considering it as precious because it is rare. In order to eliminate ambiguity and show it as one meaning, it mentioned "for the sake of beauty, the marks are like jewels," etc. For example, just as jewels can beautify the body, similarly, the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks can also beautify the body.
