The meaning is that how to seek and examine the Dharma is explained by two verses. Vast and increasing intention and faith, it is hoped that the steadfast ones will seek. With obstacles and without obstacles, likewise by those riches (to seek). Bodiless, embodied, obtaining a body, body complete, by the Bodhisattvas (to seek). Without arrogance and slight arrogance, it is considered to be among those without arrogance. Thus and so on. Bodhisattvas seek the Dharma in thirteen ways. Among them, the word Dharma refers to the twelve categories of scriptures to be preached, and the Dharmakaya to be realized. Among them, listening to the holy Dharma in the ordinary person's stage, starting from thinking, until the mundane supreme Dharma of the stage of practice of faith, listening and thinking are called vast. At the time of the mundane supreme Dharma of the stage of practice of faith, having obtained the continuous samadhi of the Dharma gate, starting from the first ground, until the time below the seventh ground, it is called having increasing intention. When realizing the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena, and the equality of self and others, it is for the sake of obtaining the mind. The realization of the Dharma from the eighth ground to the tenth ground is called great, why? Because the wisdom of non-conceptual spontaneous accomplishment is obtained, so it is called great. The characteristics of Bodhisattvas seeking the Dharma are considered to be like this, that is its meaning. Starting from the ordinary person's stage, until the time below the mundane supreme Dharma, seeing the Dharma is called having obstacles, because the mind is not stable, being deceived by evil friends, entering as guided by good friends, and not having abandoned the afflictive obscurations and the cognitive obscurations, so it is called having obstacles. From the first ground to the tenth ground, the realization of the Dharma is called without obstacles, because from then on the mind is stable, not being deceived by evil friends, not being guided by good friends, and gradually abandoning the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing, and partially abandoning the (afflictions) to be abandoned by the path of meditation, so in the eighth ground to the tenth ground, the Dharma realization

The ground is called prosperity, because of obtaining the spontaneous accomplishment of non-discrimination and clairvoyance, and the complete purification of the Buddha-field. In the time of ordinary beings, during the time of listening and thinking, it is called bodiless, because the Dharmakaya has not been directly realized. In the stage of the best mundane dharma of the ground of practice of aspiration, it is called embodied, because a portion of the Dharmakaya that has abandoned grasping and being grasped is attained. From the first ground to the seventh ground, it is called obtaining a body, because it has abandoned the view of the aggregates as a whole, and because it possesses the non-discriminating wisdom that has abandoned both grasping and being grasped, and is accompanied by diligent effort. From the eighth ground to the tenth ground, it is called the completion of the body, because non-discrimination is spontaneously accomplished. From the time of ordinary beings to the best mundane dharma of the ground of practice of aspiration, it is called great pride, because one has the thought of self and what belongs to self, and because the defilement of grasping and being grasped has not been abandoned. From the first ground to the seventh ground, it is called subtle pride, because the spontaneous accomplishment of non-discriminating wisdom has not been attained, and because one diligently seeks and abides in non-discriminating wisdom. From the eighth ground to the tenth ground, it is called no pride, because one abides in the spontaneous accomplishment of non-discriminating wisdom. In the chapter entitled "Verses Examining the Nature of the Cause of Dharma," dharma refers to form and formlessness, as well as power and inexhaustibility. It is to be known that the cause of these dharmas is such and such, and the meaning of examination is shown by one verse. Form and formless are the cause, Dharma is thus without disease. The meaning is that the cause of accomplishing the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks from the form aggregate is dharma. Why? Because listening to and contemplating the twelve branches of the scriptures, which are the supreme dharma, will accomplish the thirty-two marks and so on. Formlessness is the feeling aggregate, the perception aggregate, and the formation aggregate.
