So, as an antidote to clinging to non-existent things as existent, the Samadhi of Emptiness is taught. The Samadhi of Emptiness is the aspect of clinging to emptiness and selflessness, so it becomes an antidote to clinging to persons and phenomena as self. As an antidote to clinging to faults as virtues, the Wishless Samadhi is taught. The Wishless Samadhi is on top of the four aspects of the origin of suffering and the four aspects of the path, adding the two aspects of suffering, impermanence and suffering. There are ten aspects, so if you understand the ten aspects, you will not cling to faults as virtues. How is it understood? First, seeing impermanence and suffering, you will become disgusted. Then, if you investigate what its cause is, you will see that it is the four aspects of the origin of suffering. If you investigate how to abandon the origin of suffering, you will see that it can be abandoned by the four aspects of the path. Furthermore, you will see that the path is no longer needed after the purpose is achieved. Not wishing for all of these is called the Wishless Samadhi. As an antidote to clinging to virtues as non-virtues, the Signless Samadhi is taught. The Signless Samadhi is the nature of the four aspects of cessation, so after truly realizing the four aspects, you will not cling to virtues as non-virtues. As an antidote to clinging to all conditioned phenomena as permanent, the Buddha taught the Dharma verse, "All conditioned phenomena are impermanent." As an antidote to clinging to pleasure, the Buddha taught the meaning that "All contaminated things are suffering." As an antidote to clinging to all phenomena as self, the Buddha taught the Dharma verse, "All phenomena are selfless." As an antidote to clinging to Nirvana as not peaceful, the Buddha taught the Dharma verse, "Peace is Nirvana." Regarding "generating the thought of abandonment towards the Paramitas," four rare thoughts are taught. Generating the thought of abandonment towards the Paramitas is also a rare thought. So what is rare? The brief Dana Paramita, not only giving away external objects, but also completely giving away one's own body, is truly rare! The same is true for the Sila Paramita.

Therefore, it is amazing to completely abandon relatives, friends, and possessions in order to properly uphold the precepts. Regarding the perfection of patience, it is amazing not to be angry and to endure even when harmed by outcastes and those of low birth. Regarding the perfection of diligence, it is amazing to exert effort without regard for body or life. Regarding the perfection of meditation, it is amazing not to be attached to the bliss of meditation. Regarding the perfection of wisdom, it is amazing to realize that all phenomena are empty. "Having the perception of a long time" means that even if one practices the vast perfections in this way, one will not quickly obtain the result, but it is amazing to recognize that it takes three countless eons. "Having the perception of not expecting a reward" means that a Bodhisattva guides sentient beings to practice the six perfections, and even if they bestow benefits on those sentient beings, they do not expect a reward in this life, which is amazing, that is the meaning. "The perception of not expecting a fully ripened result" means that all actions are done for the sake of results, but in this life, one practices the six perfections without expecting to obtain great enjoyment and other fully ripened results in the next life, and it is amazing to practice in this way, that is the meaning. "Abandoning the perfections and becoming a Buddha after a long time" means that four perceptions that are not amazing are to be explained. Just as planting rice seeds will produce rice, this is not amazing. Similarly, even if one practices the vast perfections and practices for a long time, eventually attaining the supreme fruit of enlightenment is not amazing. Because one practices on an uninterrupted cause and obtains immeasurable results, this is not amazing, that is the meaning. "If these two exist, then having equanimity towards oneself and others" means that it is amazing to benefit others as oneself for those who do not possess abandonment and long-term knowledge. But for those who possess abandonment and long-term knowledge, self and others are equal.
